@pilatesdeer Yess this. I get not being official right away, but if it doesn't feel intentional, like with a growing connection and a relationship being the goal, I end up just feeling unsure and used, like someone's source of "fun" ๐ Gonna try to maintain this boundary, dating sux
@justalexoki I agree with you that this is close enough to visualization 4 me that it doesn't feel disabling. The only thing that has made me reach for the label of aphantasia is relying on the description of other people, who seem to describe a mind's eye so concrete it's like hallucination
@justalexoki I can't procure the image of an apple (or anything) in my mind's eye as a concrete thing I'm looking at. But I can still conceptualize and remember the memory of how things looked. It's like thinking about how things look rather than seeing them
@CartoonsHateHer Idk if you are familiar with attachment theory but this reads a lot as the classic anxious woman-avoidant man scenario! Your theory probably doesn't work on all men or especially healthy ones imo.
@danidonovan Setting a 30 min timer with the goal of getting as much done in a task as possible, playing music while doing so. When the 30 mins is over, often the momentum is created to keep going, but doing this first helps me to gamify it and make it more interesting/urgent
@lananelfros@democracynjoyer@celine4cix@hjk27uk@Aldreath@MediumSizeMeech I can confirm dark brown hair can shine golden in the light, my hairdresser said this is what mine does. It's part of why Deep Autumn is my color season. Brown hair can run cool or warm like blonde. (But I'm also not against gatekeeping blonde hair, dishwater blonde is a thing)
@CartoonsHateHer Yeah, she ran a quite centrist sort of campaign. The only thing maybe not centrist about it was there was a lot of focus put on abortion, which I'm not the right person to ask if that was a turn-off (I am pro abortion).
@DanielleFong@heyalexchoi This is the take. School's definitely not set up for all teens to succeed and it takes a toll on many. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease as a teen that probably wasn't an accident, and I'm unpacking self-esteem trauma from that stressful period in therapy to this day
@Knimbleyx I just finished the Mistborn series! I really enjoyed it! โค๏ธ I started to read his Stormlight Archives series recently and I'm kind of struggling a bit, as I tend to do when starting something new, but excited to get into it.
@mossmoria I feel like this is a very thoughtful thing to express. I've become a little more shy about things online, but social media is likely best when it's about being social and connecting and not just scrolling ๐
@polypocketknife Dr. Berg
You can also read the book Metabolical which agrees with Dr. Berg and has the science to back it up, but the targeted videos on what you're looking for are nice
@emilykmay Getting more sleep greatly improves my life when I can manage, I have early shifts ๐ฅบ It sucks when I have to cut tasks out of my day bc I run out of time, but the clean, non-shitty slate the next day makes it worth it to substitute more sleep instead- usually, I believe
@thechosenberg I'm dying!!!!!
This is so real
There was this guy who told me I looked tired at work every day a few years ago and eventually I told him off lmao
It's just not a nice thing to tell someone...every day... it's shady
@KingDylpickle Ah ok,I saw "vulnerable about IRL problems" & connected it to say, venting on stream/discord too many times when maybe that's not the place as the comm. leader, based on my own reflection. I don't think anyone would take an issue with saying you had a bad day or needed to cancel!
