We, the people of the United States of Biafra, express our sincere appreciation to the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (@AssembleiaSP) for this recognition and for honoring the memory of the Heroes and Heroines of Biafra.

During the official visit of the United States of Biafra Mission to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (@NorwayMFA) in 2024, we raised concerns regarding the continued annexation of Biafran territory and the long history of atrocities committed against our people, including mass killings/genocide, torture, sexual violence, and other crimes against humanity.

Based on the legal principle ex iniuria ius non oritur; that legal rights cannot arise from unlawful acts, we maintain that the international community should encourage a peaceful, democratic, and lawful resolution that respects the will of the Biafran people.

This conviction inspired the Biafran Self-Referendum of 2024, which culminated in the Lahti Declaration of November 29, 2024, when millions of Biafrans affirmed their desire for the restoration of Biafra's independence and the recovery of their interrupted sovereignty.

The will of the people must be respected.
