Reflecting on this IT outage today due to #Crowdstrike's #BSOD.
Maybe it's time the IT industry learned a thing or two from the aviation industry and provided redundancy at all critical systems. Adequate Risk Assessment should clearly outline where system redundancy is required.
@HidekiNishida2@aviationbrk Yes but it's never been at this scale. The only other excessive one was the 787 early birds, but even that was less than the 777x. Everything else throughout history has been minor modifications.
@TulinSnr@CAA_Kenya@KenyaAirways KQ could've competed with BA on ticket price and snatched their customers, but noooo!! .. KQ always has the most expensive tickets. And BTW, passengers who prefer to use LHR would gladly switch to LGW if KQ prices from LGW were competitive, but KQ fails to read the market
@TulinSnr@CAA_Kenya@KenyaAirways Nobody denied KQ any landing slots at LHR, the slots are scarce & expensive and KQ couldn't afford it, as simple as that. There's an independent market where theses limited slots are traded, whoever pays more gets them. Neither BA nor UKCAA control the slots
@Stritkat@AviationWG Not the same at all. The turn and bank angle makes all the difference. There wouldn't be a problem if this was a straight ahead low flying without a turn (like the Air Zimbabwe). This was a few centimetres from a wing strike fireball that kills many innocent lives on the ground
@DerekNseko The difference is the level of corruption and fraud in Kenya makes international banks reluctant to finance large projects in Kenya. But this joint venture in Ghana will have less hurdles securing funding from banks and lessors. KQ has the expertise, but not the reputation
@NabaasaInnocent@flyethiopian Something doesn't add up here, you've taken a photo while pax were still boarding. And you're seated at the back of the cabin, which is always boarded first before everyone else. I think this post is just clickbate.
@Abusaud_Almutaw@Saudi_Airlines Sadly, I don't think that will happen. They're not really competing for the same pax category. RiyadhAir seems to be focused on premium travellers to whom "money is not an issue"
@jonostrower Well, would've been better if that design effort was to ensure it doesn't happen in the first place. Having 2 pins next to each other isn't a sound design choice. Avoiding confusing placements is the correct safety choice. Reducing damage resulting from bad design choices isn't.
@Ecaspu@N_olliver02@Turbinetraveler There are NO alternatives, it's the only option to a sector previously held by 747 and A380. The A350-2000 still remains a wishful-thinking.
@moneyacademyKE This Rutotouille keeps inventing new con methods .. they will give away land already owned by the government and take the money from the tax payer into their pockets.
@NyangiMuchiri@MigunaMiguna Ah well, if some people could believe that God Almighty the sublime all-powerful and ever-living immortal needs to have a son and a holy spirit to "help him" .. ah well, then they will believe any other bullshit you throw at them .. sigh!
@Turbinetraveler And why the obsession with thrust:weight ratio?? It doesn't matter at all. Totally overshadowed by the advantages of a lower thrust; a quieter cabin for the passengers and a more economical climb phase for the airline. if it takes 5 minutes more to reach cruise level, so be it.
@gotravelyourway If flying a premium cabin I'll go A380 for the roomier feel and the quietness. And if flying in coach/economy I'd go A350 for the quietness (A380 in economy has wide seats but there's a gap between the sidewalls and the window seat, can't lean on the sidewalls for extra support)
@RobAviation@gotravelyourway Try the 787 in coach/economy class for over 5 hours and you'll see it's the worst ever experience in the sky, followed closely by a 777 with 10 abreast.
@Athar_Raza_22@AJENews Funny that you say "America should focus on within its own borders" .. ironically if they did the world wouldn't be in this calamity right now.
