“This is one of the largest funerals in the history of the Palestinian cause. Today, 112 martyrs will be be buried in the soil of Gaza. Talk about us. Raise your voices. Don’t let these scenes pass unnoticed on your phones.”
- A Palestinian at the funeral
@totalBarca And with the Spain and Portugal (apart from Morocco) set to be co hosts in the next world cup, UEFA can put ample pressure on FIFA. Hope they take it all the way upto Infantino’s resignation.
Sonrió y me respondió: ‘Prefiero escuchar. Ese soy yo’. Y ahí entendí todo. El resto… ya es historia.”
Barcelona lost Messi in 2021 because they were €1.2 billion in debt and La Liga slashed their wage cap from €347 million to €97 million. The emergency fix was fielding children. Four years later those children won La Liga, and one of them carries a €1 billion release clause.
The cap crisis meant Barcelona couldn't register signings. Academy kids on entry-level wages were the only players they could afford to put on the pitch. So Lamine Yamal debuted at 15 years and 9 months. Pau Cubarsí debuted at 16. Gavi, Pedri, Balde, and Casadó all got minutes a healthy club would never have risked on teenagers.
Then the desperation play turned out to be the best roster strategy in football. Yamal joined at age 7 from CF La Torreta, a local youth club. Transfer fee zero. Barcelona turned down a €250 million bid for him. He made 106 senior appearances before turning 18. Messi made 9.
The cap math makes it even better. Real Madrid operates with a €761 million squad cost limit. Barcelona's is €432 million. They won the league anyway, because half the starting lineup was developed in-house at academy cost.
Messi's final Barcelona contract was worth over €500 million. His replacement cost nothing.
Those 11-year-olds in the video are the next batch. A pipeline that began as a bankruptcy workaround is now the entire plan.
@totalBarca Yesterday I was imagining this scene 😢 somewhere deep inside I feel Pedri will be our future captain. Calm and composed , filled with talent. Also, can’t wait to see blonde Pedri next season no ?😁
@totalBarca Yeah…what a disgrace. And haters are using him to paint all of Argentina team with that clip. Really sucks. (If you look closely though, Gavi for the first touch 😁) but yeah Paredes lost it.
@DavyDXebeccc@AJA0044@mehdirhasan@Israel Yup. Him and handful of others made me realize that no one is immune to “emotions over logic”. It takes huge courage to be selfless when fighting for others and expecting nothing in return but the good of others.
@DavyDXebeccc@totalBarca 🙂 ok, you have to understand I agree with you to an extent(weirdly it sound oxymoronic) but where I will part ways with your point is where Mbappe capitalized on that slide. Clever? Yes. But as per rules, it can be given a penalty. You get me ?
This World Cup, just like any other, fandom is fogging people’s judgement. When you think that the victims are always the victims, very next moment they fight with their own side. It’s human to be emotional but it also doesn’t excuse anyone to be disrespectful.
@maxstephhh Prestianni was rightly red carded during that CL match( but in my defense, I hate this rule. Rather they use audio proof than painting all players who cover the mouth the same way.
@maxstephhh This is a photo,so I’m not sure if it’s after final whistle or not. If it’s after the match, then the new rule doesn’t award a red for covering the mouth. But I share your concern, yesterday I asked the same question when he talked to another player after the whistle.
