Banking's fundamentals haven't changed–trust, deposits, credit discipline, customer relationships. But the environment around them has.

Join our CEO, S. P. "Wije" Wijegoonaratna for a @ConsumerBankers webinar on how banks can move responsible AI beyond pilots into real lending workflows, and win the "liquidity moments" that decide whether a bank deepens a relationship or loses it to a fintech or megabank.

Most banks are making billion-dollar lending decisions using tools built for a different era.

Credit scores. Static snapshots. Manual processes. They weren't designed for a world defined by volatility, real-time data, and AI-powered competition.

Aliya co-founder and CEO S.P. “Wije” Wijegoonaratna sat down with Pulse 2.0 @pulse2news to talk about why bank transaction data is the most underused dataset in finance – and what it looks like to actually fix that inside a regulated institution.

Eight years. A top-five OCC-regulated bank. $30B+ in loans decisioned. This is what it means to do the hard part first.

Our CEO, S. P. "Wije" Wijegoonaratna, was featured in @AuthorityMgzine to talk about the future of banking — and how a global macro investor ends up building AI infrastructure for community banks.

On why he made the leap: "Financial services stood out as 'white space.' It's foundational to the economy, yet many critical decisions are still made using abstractions — credit scores, static income snapshots, and rigid segmentation. Those proxies worked reasonably well in a more stable era. They are far less effective in a world defined by volatility and rapid change."

That observation led to the founding of Aliya.

🏦 S. P. “Wije” Wijegoonaratna, Co-Founder & CEO of Aliya, is challenging how banks think about lending, risk, and AI.

Wije shares why the future of lending won’t be built on static credit decisions, but on continuous, cash-flow-driven intelligence. https://t.co/eSI5YAWo6z

[Aliya @aftanalytics]

"Early on, I saw the potential for data intelligence to transform lending not incrementally, but structurally. The challenge was never the technology itself; it was helping institutions recognize that the greater risk wasn’t change—it was continuing to make decisions without the most precise, forward-looking information available."

That's how our CEO S. P. "Wije" Wijegoonaratna thinks about lending — and he unpacks it in a new Q&A with @techstartnetwrk.

What if 400 loans could be originated in a single weekend, with zero human involvement? That’s the reality we’re building at Aliya.

Our Co-Founder and CEO, S. P. "Wije" Wijegoonaratna joined Christopher Sanger, Head of @Official_Cantor's Financial Institutions Group, to discuss the next era of lending. 💡

Most banks still treat lending as a point in time decision. Pull a score. Make a call. Wait. That approach limits growth and weakens earnings durability. In this episode, I speak with Wije Wijegoonaratna, CEO of @aftanalytics, on how AI is reshaping lending into a continuous process. Watch the latest episode: https://t.co/uOme8Pr8qj

Two things our CEO S.P. "Wije" Wijegoonaratna said on the Banking Transformed podcast that every bank leader needs to hear:

1️⃣ "We're at an inflection point. It's not about the deposit account — it's about the availability of liquidity on demand."

2️⃣ "Focus on revenue-generating AI. The customer side and the automation come for free."

“We bring operational intelligence to banks, turning transaction data into intelligence that runs lending automatically—with better risk controls. We can run an entire loan program with 5 people when it used to be run by 50+.”

Our Co-founder & CEO S.P. “Wije” Wijegoonaratna joined @mikulaja on FinTech Business weekly to discuss how AI is changing the operating model of banking.

Traditional banks built relationships starting with deposits.

Digital lenders discovered something different: Trust forms fastest when institutions solve a liquidity need.

Lending became the front door to the relationship.

“The inputs and outputs in banking aren’t changing. It’s the middle that’s being transformed.”

AI isn’t just improving banking workflows — it’s fundamentally changing how financial decisions get made.

Our Co-founder & CEO S.P. “Wije” Wijegoonaratna joined @peterrenton on Fintech One-on-One to discuss the future of AI-native banking.

Customers rarely leave banks in dramatic ways anymore.

They leave quietly—in the moment they need liquidity and the bank isn't there. That moment now defines customer-centric banking.

Our new paper explores why lending decisions increasingly determine bank primacy and how banks can defend their franchise in the AI era.
