Twitter account of Goosnargh and Whittingham against over development. As a group we are concerned about the destruction of our village by overdevelopment
@benwallacemp@CPRE@Rawe___@blogpreston Updated map with the latest planning applications added. All in breach of local plan, not small scale, most in open countryside or areas of separation, no public transport and no infrastructure. Enough already #saynotooverdevelopment
At last common sense prevails. All bar 1 speculative planning applications have been rejected at appeal. That's stops 100s of houses being built on the green belt. Thanks to everyone who objected and made their voices heard https://t.co/dgwsrIp2lN
@HomesEngland@CWGC@benwallacemp@WhittinghamLA@blogpreston Absolutely appalled that Whittingham hospital graveyard has been vandalised by housing developers. War graves and Whittingham hospital patients graves desecrated. No respect.
Lazy morning this morning but guilted into action by young R who has been to the park this morning to litter pick (his own idea) so it is tidy for others later. #KeepBritainTidy#FutureIsSafe
@prestoncouncil have set a precedent here if the Broughton development is refused on the grounds of unplanned expansion of a rural village on the greenbelt. Goosnargh is far more rural than neighbouring Broughton and all proposed developments are on the greenbelt
Big decisions to be made on five new housing developments across Cottam, Fulwood, Broughton, Barton and Ingol by @prestoncouncil planning committee π

@prestoncouncil further flooding in Goosnargh at the site of the proposed Gladmans development. A regular event everytime it rains. Can only get worse if tonnes of concrete is poured into the ground
@prestoncouncil flooding on Goosnargh tonight due to overflowing stream. This is the proposed site for 140 houses at Bushells Farm. Building here is simply unnecessary, the local infrastructure cannot cope already. Pouring tons of concrete into the ground makes no sense
@LongridgeEG Disgraceful @prestoncouncil need to prosecute these greedy developers for ripping out that hedgerow and destroying the habitat of local wildlife.
Day 3 @mentalhealth Awareness Week. Big day today as we started distributing 300 Brew and a Chat kits to our wards, other key workers and our neighbours in Goosnargh. Props to @jengardnerOT and @LouiseBain6 for making and taking kits. #KindnessMatters#TeamGuild@WeAreLSCFT
Huge privilege to deliver The Cake Hole cakes to one of our low secure wards at Guild Lodge @WeAreLSCFT . This team with @AmyHindle91 are working so hard to protect their patients and support each other. Thanks to @eve_potts for organising. Feedback from the ward was YUM!!
@boo891 and @LisaSlater2019 were thrilled to receive their The Cake Hole cake. Great leadership from these guys ensuring the teams at Guild Lodge @WeAreLSCFT are keeping patients safe and supporting each other. Thanks to @eve_potts for organising the cake! It looks scrummy
With immediate effect there is a dedicated phone number (07552 680591) and email ([email protected]) for anyone in the Longridge area requiring assistance with shopping and/or collection of prescriptions.
Not on our village but near to us. Unbelievable that so many trees are being felled to make way for housing. Do you think photosynthesis needs explaining? Well done @prestoncouncil stirling work once again from the planning department ππ
Very disappointing to see that @yourseddon workers are not following #coronavirus guidelines in Goosnargh. Have you no respect for our village which has lots of vulnerable older people in our community?
@yourseddon Fact checker for anyone thinking of buying one of these houses https://t.co/G3stNWECa6
βNo new school
βNot in the catchment for broughton high school
βNot in catchment for Sherwood school
βNo superstore
βNo petrol station
βLimited bus service
Your welcome
@cprelancs Couldn't agree more. Government figures released on the 13th of February clearly showed that Preston does have a housing supply and they have delivered 300% over government targets. Making the need to destroy the greenbelt redundant
We hope the council wins, sorry this developer will not accept no, is no.
Shame Council resources have to be focused on this. A demonstrable 5 year housing land supply means greenfields ought to be protected.
