Could you please explain to me what the advantage of the vibe coding is over the low-code/no-code approach?
Everything I've seen so far can be used interchangeably with similar results. However, low-code/no-code seems to be cheaper.
Should productivity tools be translated into local languages? What do you think?
Even though English is not my first language, I use every tool in English and I even prefer the English UI to my native language.
What has been your experience, especially in countries where English is widely known but not the first language?
I'm thinking of the Scandinavian, German-speaking and Polish markets.
Why do we need a new language?
Often in discussions with various people the question is asked, why are we actually developing a new programming language? After all, we have so many great web-ready languages in the IT world like TypeScript, Python or ... {insert your favorite}.
Correct, these languages are great and we use several of them ourselves on a daily basis, but ....
There are no perfect languages for everything.
In theory, you could write video processing algorithms in JavaScript, but it's more convenient and efficient to do it in C or Rust.
You could also write user interface behavior logic in C++, but JavaScript is better suited for that.
Examples could be multiplied.
That's why we use C/C++ when we develop a compiler or a super-fast virtual machine. JS when we develop frontends (I love Svelte!) and we conveniently write business domain logic in ObjectReef.
And guess what? Just as I can't imagine going back to the days of WinAPI or MFC, I don't want to develop the business domain in anything other than ObjectReef anymore. Let's respect each other ;-)
You don't need to use the same tool for different applications.
After almost a year of being a CEO, I'm finding that it's a much harder job than being a programmer.
I feel again like a 20-year-old who is learning a profession in his first job.
@_thatstartupguy We use two:
- .dev for the website
- .io for the API
Today, I would be afraid to push content under SEO on a domain with .io because of the political uncertainty of the existence of this suffix.
Essential vs accidental complexity in SWE.
It is known that the first is not always up to us, but the second is. Each successive language and framework diminishes the accidental complexity. At least in theory.
What technology stack would you choose to write a complex business application (say CRM) from scratch?
I love marketing advises so much 🤣.
Few simple everyday steps :
- SEO and content marketing
- cold DMs/emails outreach
- move to SF, because all above doesn't make sense 🥳🥳🥳
What is more important to you when adopting a new tool: documentation or samples?
I keep wondering what to focus the most attention on for adapting ObjectReef for a wide audience
