Take Onitsha metropolis. Forty years ago Onitsha was already congested, littered with unplanned 5-storey buildings, open markets and narrow roads. Most towns around Onitsha had empty forests—prime locations for a fresh start and a golden chance to build new modern cities. Instead they kept building the same outdated 4–5 storey buildings in these new areas. Now the whole place is a mess.

Onitsha eventually lost its potential to Asaba. Onitsha died and resurrected in Asaba.

If the towns around Onitsha had been given the required attention, this would not be the discussion today.

"Cybercrime" is when Malaysian hackers deliver malware to a Silicon Valley CTO's laptop and encrypt it, permanently locking him out and putting a $5bn startup in trouble unless he pays a $4m ZEC ransom.

A Yahoo Boy with sagging pants and brown teeth who scams $500 gift cards out of lonely old white women is not a "cybercriminal" - he's a fucking idiot. We don't have cybercriminals in Nigeria. We just have idiots. And the FBI didn't leave the world headquarters of idiots and travel to West Africa just to hunt idiots when they already have so many at home.
