To start our descriptive writing unit, we listened to two different paragraphs and drew the monster being described.

Our drawings were much closer to the original when listening to the detailed paragraph!

We learned how important it is to add detail to our writing!

Today I leveraged AI...
While I was speaking in English, Microsoft translated what I was saying (in real time) into 3 different languages! All my ELD/ELL learners had to was to follow along on their devices. Thank you to @MmeStrizzi for all your help! @lisahoweocsb

Boy walks into reception late for school.

Receptionist says ‘late again!’

Enters building. Passing member of staff says ‘are you late again?’

On his way to class, someone else asks him for a minute. ‘Are you ok?’ They say.

Boy confides that he has no bed. 4 children in a 2 bedroom house. Mum has late nights and he gets himself ready.

Good to consider how we may greet some children in a morning.

Today was the last visit with our buddies. ⁦@MsHardwickOCSB⁩ grade 1 class visited @StPiusXOCSB and spent time with our Parenting class’s newly hatched chicks! We have created so many memories! #ocsbDL #PiusJoy ⁦

We wrote about our favourite memories today that we’ve had with our buddies! Another highlight was a @StPiusXOCSB student who speaks Spanish came and had a great conversation with our new student from Columbia. He even has the same name as 2 of our students. 😃 @agconnolly
