For decades, the Coast region has failed to build a strong political party capable of representing its interests on the national stage. Instead, we have repeatedly been swayed and used to advance the political ambitions of other parties. We have been politically blackmailed because we appear to have no viable alternatives, you are expected to align with either ODM or UDA.

What the Coast needs is a leader with an independent voice, someone who can champion the region's interests without being intimidated or controlled by any political establishment.

Although that maybe the MO, Kenyans are not as gullible as they appear, politics in the Kenyan context is local, if you address their issues pertinently you will win. It is the institutional weaknesses that should be addressed so that candidates who do not meet the threshold are barred.
