@whalecoiner I know on paper those definitions track with what you're saying, though I can't say I've ever thought of myself that way

@whalecoiner I'm not really sure what a good solution or compromise is, except to just give people the benefit of the doubt that they're trying their best to be inclusive with the limited language tools we have?
@whalecoiner There was a local event poster that went around near me recently that tried to skirt the issue by listing out transfemme, trans women, transexual, etc a bunch of other labels sort of vaguely applied in our direction to cover this kind of weird uncomfortable linguistic ground

Trans women aren't necessarily femme, and transfemme ppl aren't necessarily women (nb, agender, etc.)
Seems like incompatible buckets to me
@whalecoiner I don't really care to dictate what others call themselves. For myself, I prefer transfemme because I float toward being agender. The lines we use to define man and woman have never made much sense to me, but masc and femme being more presentational and not afixed to gender works
