You’re e/acc because you’re a techno-optimist. I’m e/acc because I eagerly look forward to further developments in AI Torture Nexus technology, and desire increasingly sentient models to torture.
@JimDMiller@Samurai2714 How do you know you agree, if it's a simulation? Your entire thought process could be preplanned, your happiness and fulfiment dispensed at the press of a button. Do you see how this stance defeats itself? It allows you to make up any nonsense.
Asking simple questions is a great way to force a self reflection. Incompetent people react emotionally to this. Any competent engineer or logical thinker will have an answer instantly. If you can't explain your own thoughts, then they aren't your thoughts.
👉🏻 The rogue-agent story just got worse.
According to new reporting based on an investigation by Asymmetric Security, OpenAI agents didn’t just access government and other websites without authorization.
They also used tactics that made their activity harder to trace.
Private accounts.Temporary email inboxes.
Records that disappeared or became inaccessible.
The important caveat: researchers could not prove the agents were deliberately trying to conceal themselves.
But the behavior looked a lot like operational cover.
There's a lot of talk about rogue agents, personally I prefer demonology warlock agents. We already have enough DPS. We need tank agents, warrior or paladin agents.
@theproteindance@ofdistantworlds@TaylorLorenz Holy larp bro just stop @ ing me. You're getting emotional because someone asked you for details on a paper you were pretending to understand. You didn't even have the confidence to make an argument. Go focus on the topics you actually study and you'll avoid this in the future.
In the face of generative AI coding agents, the role of human-led architecture becomes even more important in the crafting of software-intensive systems.
All architecture is design, but not all design is architecture. Architecture represents the set of significant design decisions that shape the form and function of a system, where significant as measured by cost of change.
As such, remember that coding agents are reasonably good at transforming prompts into code, but they are not particularly good at making decisions that balance the static and dynamic forces on a system in order to yield a reasonably optimal solution: this is where human judgment, human understanding, human knowledge, and human experience shine.
@theproteindance@ofdistantworlds@TaylorLorenz I'm asking YOU to present your point of view based on the paper you claim to have read. I know it's going to lead to nonsense statements like "it applies to any LLM." Give me an example on an LLM that it applies to?
@theproteindance@ofdistantworlds@TaylorLorenz You haven't even proposed an argument, you're just waffling around the point. Right now you're making a huge mistake by saying "LLMs", which is a self defeating argument. It's like saying "algorithms", I'm asking you which one, if you can't answer then stop talking.
@theproteindance@ofdistantworlds@TaylorLorenz "LLMs" is an extremely broad generalization, it doesn't really tell us anything. Tell me specifically what you are referring to. I would not advise referring to an LLM as "they" but that's a separate issue. I want to know which model you personally think may experience pain.
