Actual Solidworks assembly in the Quest 3 real time. Some solid bodies, some laser scan meshes, 9 million triangles, steady 90hz, and some shaky hands. This is getting pretty exciting

Scope creep is an impossible battle to win 😄. Yep sheetmetal axle and "one link" suspension on a single leaf per axle. The leaf is a trailer leaf with a lot of motion ratio applied to soften it up, and I'm starting with just the main leaf. I can add back in the rest of the leaves in the pack if it's too soft, but some testing will be needed to dial it in

@_baldtires Ain't that the truth. The problem is I definitely undersized the differentials on it, so I know they'll break at some point in the future when I push it hard. So that stalled me a bit, but I think it's still worth building and testing in this format before revising

Would it really be necessary though? The Starlink deployment altitude is far below any of the active Starlink orbital shells. And If they launch via a dummy Starlink like Starfall, and it's the last in the dispenser, as soon as the rest of the Starlinks that got dispensed start orbit raising they're completely safe from any passive payloads behind them

@itslueul Grok 4.7 should be roughly on par with Opus 5.0, not 5.1. Better in some ways, worse in others. We need to fix multimodal performance.

Grok 4.8 will be a noticeable improvement.

Grok 4.9 is probably Astra/Fable class.

Grok 5 maybe better than anything. We shall see.

@Xaraphim I think so too. I’ve been tinkering with a VR tubing tool, and it’s amazing how we’re able to build full feature sets these days. Can’t imagine what we’ll see in a year or two

Working on tube corner node handling. I can choose priority for each tube depending on what’s needed, and all cuts are normalized for 3 axis laser cutting. Nodes can become bends as well
