@eringil13820067 Our judicial system is so inconsistent...it's just insane. So many of the punishments don't match the crime and vice versa. Things have to change. #susocialwork
@Kklprice This reminds me of the tiny homes for the homeless idea! I really think a concept like this would be super useful in a lot of communities, including ours. Great article! #SUSocialwork
@CS_SocialWork I shared a similar article. I felt so outraged when I read it because she was denied basic human rights. What if she or the baby had died? Would we have heard about it or would it have been swept under the rug? #SUSocialwork
With social media, word of mouth, and childcare assistance/early headstart programs, there is NO excuse for this. What else will it take to implement change?! This number is outrageous. #SUSocialwork
The 800th child to die was a 4-year-old boy in Minnesota, who was found dead after he was left in a hot SUV while his father was at work. https://t.co/hyq0i0vdlp
How is this even possible? I’m having trouble coming up with the words to describe how this makes me feel as an advocate for social justice and as a woman. #SUSocialWork
The hard working foster care workers and foster families deserve way more recognition than they receive. Let's not limit the appreciation to just one month! #SUsocialwork
May is #NationalFosterCareMonth! Join us in celebrating foster families, kinship caregivers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who work together to ensure children have nurturing homes and strong familial connections.
@MonekkaDavis UGH. No excuse for this. I think there should be a little more of a consequence for this behavior. I realize that sometimes there is a lack of knowledge about what's acceptable, but in 2019, he had to know that there would be some reaction to his actions. #SUsocialwork
@Cwakeman3@WorWicCC This is such an important message because addiction doesn't always have a "look". Stereotypical looks seem to overshadow the reality that addiction can affect anyone, no matter the race, socioeconomic status, gender, etc. #SuSocialWork
Is this ever true for people who we come across in the field of social work? Even though this is a short statement, it packs a punch. Sometimes the "quiet ones" are doing the most observing. #SuSocialWork
There are still a couple of events left this month. Stop by Market Street on Thursday 4/25 and come to our Open House on 4/26!
#WicomicoCAC#SUSocialWork
@eringil13820067 Wicomico County CAC has been having events throughout April and we have our Open House on 4/26, which is this Friday. Everyone is really excited about these events and they have really done wonders spreading awareness. #SUSocialWork
@CS_SocialWork@VernitaBeach27 This is really interesting...I feel like historically, women tend to take on more and internalize the stress. This isn't true in every case, but it seems to be a reoccurring theme. Workplace wellness needs to be implemented for ALL. #SUSocialWork
Smh AGAIN. What's the deal? I am proud of the students who didn't just take "no" for an answer in this case. They found a way to say what needed to be said, even with numerous roadblocks in the way. As social workers, we face a lot of barriers, too. #susocialwork
@EleanorMBrown22 I am absolutely going to wear denim on the 24th. Thank you for sharing and explaining the cause behind it. I’m looking more into this whole cause. #susocialwork
@DevonESawa You are one of the main reasons I bought a ridiculous amount of teen magazines (with my allowance) in the 90’s. You’ve still got it! Thanks for the needed LOL. 💁🏼♀️
