Three Wisconsin dairy farmers have filed suit, represented by @WILawLiberty At the center of the complaint is the plaintiffs’ contention that mandatory producer assessments are funding a network of organizations and programs focused on environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals rather than increasing dairy sales and consumption. See article in today's Farmshine https://t.co/p5mfPi6aHr
(I just have to say Farmshine has logged more than a decade of reporting on the checkoff's foray into taking social license, rather than protecting it. 'Funding your own demise' appeared in several headlines when the MOU between checkoff and WWF was discovered.)
Farmshine has covered the dairy checkoff Innovation Center climate agenda since at least 2015. This editorial was filed with Farmshine back in May and then published June 5, before the lawsuit was filed. If you google agmoos, that's my blog where there are many investigative articles I had written for Farmshine -- a print publication -- before they began putting some content online. Not all of them, but most. Editor Dieter Krieg did the initial GENYouth article that opened pandora's box and assigned me to follow up, over the past decade. At the same time we found the Dietary Guidelines and whole milk removal from school in 2010-12 to be linked to the climate agenda. Former Sec. Vilsack has been the common denominator. https://t.co/lREC7S5Eue
Great to hear @derrickvanorden
& @SecRollins discuss the FARM ES program data collection being "voluntarily" mandated on dairy farmers & that checkoff $$ are being used to push Dairy Net Zero.

@SweetWaterDairy@DevaCowlover@pmarca Innovation Center (including 10-year MOU with World Wildlife Fund) and Global Dairy Platform are 501c6’s created by National dairy checkoff (DMI) at same address, to bring processors in for pre-competitive collaboration or coordination. So, farmers paid for it, and here we are.
DMI's Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy wants USDA to add new data collections for net-zero; ADC sounds off in docket comment. Read more here

@BasedMikeLee in favor of the bill, but what about married women in blue states where the Real ID driver's license does not get marked as citizen though we proved it? Some of us went through a major paperwork trail for Real ID, do we bring it all to polls where everyone knows us already?
ATTENTION DAIRY FARMERS:
USDA is taking comments on a Mandatory Processor Cost Survey that ties directly to make allowances—the built-in deductions taken out of your milk price. Under the 2025 FMMO changes that added roughly $1.00 to the make allowances, they now total $3.22 to $5.04 per cwt at pool average test—money taken on the front-end before line item deductions. Our request for extension of 30-day comment period was not granted.

@SecKennedy@DrOzCMS Start with a regulatory roll-back in school meals please to break the "USDA compliance guarantee" hold the CPG companies have and pave the way for money spent on regulatory compliance to go to better food and on-site prep
Fix the whole milk guidance to include breakfast per statute! School Breakfast and summer feeding standards are to follow the school lunch standards — makes no sense to write guidance for schools that allow whole milk for lunch but not breakfast. Common sense, please! Major deterrent for farmers working with their hometown schools.
ADC SURVEY at https://t.co/33eo91xry3
77% say GHG data-collection not voluntary
32% 'required to sell milk'
20% fear penalty/contract loss
80% lack trust
100% say farmers should control it

🚨 BREAKING — FLORIDA MAHA WIN IN COURT: The 11th circuit has just UPHELD the state’s ban on lab-grown meat, defeating a Gavin Newsom’s California-based company
HUGE victory! In Florida, you have to sell the REAL stuff ☀️
Vindication for Wilton Simpson, the Agriculture Commissioner who spearheaded this bill all the way to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk:
“Another win for Real Food - another loss for Frankenmeat. Today’s ruling to uphold Florida’s ban on lab-grown ‘meat’ is a huge win for the state and for our consumers.”
“Lab-grown ‘meat’ is not proven to be safe enough for consumers, and it is being pushed by a liberal agenda to shut down farms. Food security is a matter of national security.”
“As Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, I will fight every day to protect a safe, affordable, and abundant food supply.” @WiltonSimpson
Farmers are speaking up.
New survey from the American Dairy Coalition shows:
• 77% say GHG data collection isn’t truly voluntary
• 80% don’t trust how their data is handled
• 92% receive no compensation
100% say they should control their own data.
CALL TO ACTION: Dairy farmers are urged to submit comments ASAP, asking USDA to extend the request for input by 60 days! USDA gave no true notice other than putting it in the Federal Register on 2/27/26. Comments close 3/30/26. These surveys will impact future "make allowances" (aka processor credits that already total $4.50 to $5.10 per hundredweight collectively) ***Read more here: https://t.co/WcyaenihDy
