Yesterday's TL was very triggering ...there is a time you see things on here and you are angry that they are happening and then you become angry at yourself because of the helplessness of it all.
Because you with time feel like even speaking out isn't doing enough.
Good day folks
Why don't Advocates temporarily boycott Court? It's high time we learnt where everyone stands on these matters!
And only a fool will think that what's happened to Erias Lukwago is too far away to happen to him in the middle of executing their own professional duties!
Dear UG media: An arrest requires physical restraint or clear submission to lawful custody. Abductions and detention in “safe houses” or basements do not meet that threshold. They are not arrests, they are unlawful detention and clear violations of constitutional rights.
Seeing how the rule of law is routinely violated in this country, I wonder, where’s the progress promised by those who preached dialogue sijui safe corridor & assured us that the Kyagulanyi way of constitutional opposition couldn’t work?
Mutuwe ku progress report.
And of course in typical fashion the Police Spokesperson comes out and says “We have no information that Lukwago has been abducted” even when there are Tweets with all manner of evidence & proof. This regime makes me sick!
Even beyond the fear of the acts of the man, what scares me most is a cloud of myopic countrymen in the comments section cheering him on. That's the saddest part of all this.
Arrest a man and deny him free and fair trial for over 500 days.
Arrest his lawyer who is doing his constitutional duty representing the man you have illegally detained.
Brag about it.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our new reality.
@aliza_pearl The people who made some of your parents flee the country in the 1970s are the same ones in power today. (I don't know if that makes sense...)
Football is genuinely the closest thing we have to a universal language. Expanding the World Cup to 48 teams was a top tier decision man. More countries, more cultures, more stories.
That’s why half the time I move like a foot soldier. This government doesn’t deserve intelligent and rational debate. Lukwago has literally used the courts to fight for his client like we are told and he is in a basement abducted. Once in a while, Nyoko is a better reply.
That stuff that MK does is really not normal stuff. The things he says are not normal things. The man does what he wants, says what he wants & always gets away with it. It’s painfully sad.
In another world where the rule of law works, nothing of this sort would happen. In fact, in such a world, MK would be behind bars for several crimes committed against Ugandans & Humanity in general.
A man who takes pride in torturing other human beings & is unapologetic about it is a man who has no soul & should not exist with other human beings. Such a man is unmoved by all the innocent blood that’s been shed, unfazed by the needless tears that have been shed, and unbothered by the countless lives that have been ruined and/or lost at his behest.
One day that impunity shall come to an end. One day the hunter shall become the hunted and Ugandans will demand and get accountability for all these horrible things they are being put through.
The time will come when the chickens come home to roost. I hope and pray the Universe grants you and I long life because that day will come. And even if you and I aren’t here, someone else will. They shall celebrate the end of one of the worst dynasties this world has ever seen.
