Amb. Ombeni Sefue: With the rapid change in technology, our focus should shift from our old school systems and curricula… to churn out job creators rather than job seekers… The worship of academic degrees is coming to end; henceforth it will be the worship of skills, competencies, innovation and the right mindsets.

Black Americans are saying she’s not black because she’s from Brazil. Because of course they are the grand masters of blackness, the ultimate authority on all ethnicity, the great imperial and almighty deciders of race, the final arbiters on who and what is black. 🙇🏾♀️
New product alert! 🚨

🇹🇿@MahimbaliK (Permanent Secretary @MadiniTanzania) at @ChathamHouse London Conference: “#Tanzania has done so much to de-risk the mining sector for private investment. We don’t need a helping hand in the transition, we need honest business partnerships.”

As I stepped into the grand hall of @StPancrasRen Renaissance Hotel London for the @ChathamHouse conference in 2024, I felt a surge of excitement and anticipation. Among esteemed participants, I found myself sharing insights on Tanzania's renewable energy journey and the intricate landscape of African mining projects. The room buzzed with discussions on critical minerals, global collaborations, and the urgent need for sustainable solutions.
During my panel contribution, I emphasized Tanzania's open invitation to investors from all corners of the world, highlighting the importance of inclusivity in our partnerships. The audience resonated with the significance of critical minerals in driving the transition towards a greener future. Together, we painted a vision of unity and progress, recognizing the pivotal role of collaboration in shaping a more sustainable and equitable world.
Reflecting on this experience, I am inspired by the energy and commitment towards positive change. The conference was a platform for meaningful dialogue and shared visions. However, the challenges faced by African countries due to a lack of strong commitment for funding critical minerals projects cast a shadow on our discussions. It's crucial for us to address these challenges collectively to secure a brighter future for all. Grateful for the support of my team at the ministry, I am motivated to drive forward towards overcoming these obstacles and achieving sustainable progress. Collaboration is key!

Speaking constructive truth to authorities is not being disrespectful, on the contrary it is being respectful and helpful. Telling authorities what they want to hear even when we know it is not helpful to them is criminal.
