Dr. Rao! Appreciate the practical approach suggested by you to this issue. A 5 year course, with a possibility of early completion, can a perfect platform. After first year, necessary counselling and course adjustments can be facilitated. And, in my experience IIT Professors were never shy of providiing extra help if someone required. The environment inside should foster creativity and innovation besides good academic harmony rather than a burden on some of them.

Carpeting is a U.S. concept. India, specially Delhi- a prominent dust and pollution zone, should follow European concept of tiles which are easy to clean and maintain. Even the present T3, with carpeting, is not good from overall heigene and sanitation perspective. Bad patches are clearly visible all around.
