Looking forward to taking people to the parched scrubby battlefield of Talavera tonight with @garius at 1930 hours on @BattleguideVT. Stand by for night attacks, bayonet charges and desperate musket battles. “Damn their filing! Let them come in anyhow.”
'It turned my life around completely.'
Veteran Lyndon Chatting-Walters, who was injured in Afghanistan, tells @CharlotteHawkns how @PoppyLegion helped him.
The Royal British Legion is celebrating its 100th anniversary at Westminster Abbey.
"Year after year, every October/November I see the old boys out in their medals, blazers and berets, stood in supermarkets and town centres selling poppies. Every year they get less and less and it always makes me wonder - when do we take over?

Check out this military coup in the offing! This was the @HCav1660 Stair Case Party for the 2017 State Opening of Parliament getting a tour of the @UKParliament during a rehearsal. Don’t worry it didn’t turn into a Life Guards vs Blues and Royals debate.
We’re deeply saddened to hear of the passing of @captaintommoore. He epitomised the spirit of our wartime generation and was an inspiration to millions, bringing us all together in the most challenging of times. Read our tribute 👉 https://t.co/NOx3QI9EOx
Did you know that Queen Victoria created the Victoria Cross on 29 January 1856? Since then 1,355 people have received a VC for bravery and actions of self-sacrifice. Here are 11 things you may not know about this prestigious award. ⬇️
@davebloom18 @PoppyLegion Do you realise how much those other charities depend on the RBL for funding? As veterans we should all be supporting one of our oldest charities modernising for the digital age in their centenary year, not tearing them apart. £100k over 3 years vs £1.9m per week on welfare...
@Robert_Purse@PoppyLegion It was because of @PoppyLegion modernising our Armistice Day and Remembrance Sundays that we aren’t just remembering the fallen of WW1. In their centenary year they need to evolve for the digital age or they risk being our competed by donkey sanctuaries & cat homes!
@PeteAustin_@SpitfireFilly@PoppyLegion 😂😂Spot on. Don't forget 'should have done a competition for children to design one'. Which, if my four year old is anything to go by, is great if your re-brand is trying to say 'creepy potato'.
A honking day out there in Plymouth today. I’ve been out across the City checking on constituents and delivering some parcels on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
Struck by our collective resilience; determination to get through and commitment to our vulnerable #loveplymouth
Defence Minister @JohnnyMercerUK today paid a Christmas visit to four Plymouth-based Veterans.
The Minister delivered some Christmas treats to the Veterans aged between 35 and 96-years-old and learned about how @PoppyLegion supports them through its south-west network. 🎁🎄
Coronavirus restrictions have meant parades to commemorate Remembrance Sunday have been scaled back or cancelled altogether.
There are many other ways to remember those in the Armed Forces, both past and present, as @helenkeenanTV has been finding out.
