Seekor tapir yang sebelumnya viral saat melintas di Jalan Lintas Timur kawasan Register 45, Kabupaten Mesuji, Lampung, dilaporkan mati disembelih warga. Video penyembelihan hewan dilindungi itu juga beredar luas. ⁠

Dalam video yang diterima, tampak satwa dilindungi itu dipotong-potong di sebuah lahan terbuka. Sejumlah bagian tubuhnya diletakkan di atas daun pisang.⁠

Kepala Seksi Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (KSDA) Wilayah III Lampung, Itno Itoyo, mengatakan pihaknya telah berkoordinasi dengan Polres Mesuji untuk menindaklanjuti dugaan pembunuhan satwa tersebut.⁠

Itno menegaskan, tapir atau yang juga dikenal sebagai tenuk merupakan satwa yang dilindungi oleh undang-undang dan termasuk salah satu mamalia ikonik Pulau Sumatera.⁠

"Tapir atau tenuk merupakan salah satu dari The Big Five Mammals di Pulau Sumatera. Selain tapir, ada gajah Sumatera, harimau Sumatera, badak Sumatera, dan beruang madu. Statusnya sama-sama satwa yang dilindungi," ujarnya.⁠

Nasib nahas menimpa Arif (50) warga Sokaraja, Kabupaten Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. Arif yang sedang membawa sekitar 1 ton telur mengalami kecelakaan. Alih-alih dibantu, telur-telur Arif itu justru dijarah warga.

Peristiwa itu terjadi di Jembatan Kali Kacangan, Desa Kutawis, Kecamatan Bukateja, Kabupaten Purbalingga, Minggu (28/6). Saat itu Arif bersama karyawannya (23) baru saja mengambil 1,33 ton telur untuk dijual ke pasar.

Namun setibanya di lokasi kejadian, mobil pikap yang ditumpangi oleng dan terguling setelah menghindari mobil lain dari arah berlawanan. 1 ton telur miliknya pun ikut terjatuh. "Saat itu kami masih di dalam kabin. Warga datang katanya mau menolong, tapi nyatanya pada ngambilin telur sampai habis," ujar Arif kepada kumparan, Kamis (2/7).

Ia dan Romadhon sempat terjebak selama 30 menit di dalam mobil. Setelah bebas, ia hanya bisa tertegun kita melihat warga menjarah dan membawa pergi telurnya. "Saya shock nggak bisa ngapa ngapain karena baru kecelakaan. Nggak bisa ngomong apa-apa tahu-tahu habis semua," ungkap dia.

Arif sempat menemui perangkat dusun di lokasi kecelakaan dan meminta itikad baik dari warga yang mengambil telur-telurnya itu. Sebab, kerugian yang ia derita amat besar puluhan juta rupiah. "Saya rugi Rp 26 juta rupiah, itu uang modal saya. Kalau ngambilnya 1 atau 2 kilogram ngga papa, tapi ada yang ambil 1 peti, 2 peti," keluh Arif.

Ia berharap warga yang mengambil telur-telurnya itu memiliki itikad baik untuk mengembalikannya. Ia juga berterima kasih karena warga saat itu juga menolong dirinya.

Nasib pilu dialami Dewi (64), warga Medan, yang rumah kontrakannya dibobol maling saat menjaga anaknya dirawat di rumah sakit selama dua pekan. Setibanya di rumah, ia mendapati sejumlah barang berharga seperti dua mesin jahit, mesin pompa air, penanak nasi, dan puluhan piring telah raib.

Cobaan Dewi datang bertubi-tubi. Suaminya baru meninggal dunia akibat stroke pada awal Juni, lalu dua hari kemudian anaknya harus dirawat karena mengalami gizi buruk. Beberapa hari setelah pencurian pertama, rumahnya kembali dibobol dan tiga ponsel milik anaknya yang merupakan kenang-kenangan dari sang ayah ikut hilang.

Dewi mengaku kini tidak memiliki pekerjaan dan kesulitan memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Ia bahkan mengaku hanya makan ubi dan jagung bersama anak-anaknya. Mesin jahit yang biasa digunakan untuk mencari nafkah pun ikut dicuri. Ia berharap mendapat bantuan setelah laporannya belum dapat diproses karena dinilai belum memiliki bukti yang cukup.

Polrestabes Medan telah memberikan bantuan berupa penanak nasi, ponsel baru, dan uang tunai Rp500 ribu, serta pendampingan trauma healing bagi Dewi dan anaknya. Meski belum ada laporan polisi resmi, Kapolrestabes Medan memastikan kasus dugaan pencurian tersebut tetap akan diselidiki.

Palestinian goalkeeper Saleem Al-Ashqar was killed earlier this week in Gaza by the Israeli army, according to a statement by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA).

The PFA said Al-Ashqar was killed by fire opened by occupation forces.
It said he was one of hundreds of Palestinian sporting figures killed, including more than 1,000 Palestinian athletes, since the genocidal war began in October 2023.

Al-Ashqar was married five months ago, and his wife is expecting the couple’s first child.

An outpouring of grief from relatives, teammates, and the wider Palestinian sporting and world community have occurred since his death.

“We deeply mourn the tragic death of 32-year-old Palestinian goalkeeper Salim Al-Ashqar. He was killed by the Israeli army. We are deeply saddened by the continuation of such events. We call for justice and peace,” Chilean football club Deportivo Palestino said Wednesday
