We can’t afford to drag our feet on scaling up renewables. And by scaling up I mean tripling global renewable energy capacity by 2030 as called for in the #COP28 agreement. We at @SiemensGamesa fully support this call to action.

Now we need to establish the conditions that will enable the wind sector to deliver on this target. We need to:
🔹 accelerate permitting procedures,
🔹 prioritize qualitative auction criteria,
🔹 remove financial burdens on the wind industry,
🔹 get access to finance and financial de-risking tools,
🔹 level the playing field among global wind turbine manufacturers, and
🔹 sign trade agreements that ensure access to key resources.

Policymakers play an important role in ticking these boxes. The €5 billion counter-guarantee scheme just pledged by the @EIB to support European wind turbine manufacturers is a good start. But real progress comes when all stakeholders take impactful action to fight climate change and secure clean and affordable energy. And this must happen now.
