Nearly a decade ago I got to work on one of my favorite projects to date: The making of Apple’s emoji. To kickoff its 10th anniversary, I’ve written a piece on Medium. Check it out! https://t.co/5sl9Zl61bt
Growing up, too many kids have their career aspirations limited by the examples they see around them.
When the destination is invisible, the path feels impossible. Introducing new role models today expands options for tomorrow.
This is how to show kids what's possible.
Thank you to Psychology Today @PsychToday for the fun interview on how emojis have become a nonverbal way to communicate, especially in the digital form where we’re not physically next to each other. Available online and in print as part of their November issue.

When she was just an intern at Apple, @agzmn was given the assignment to create the emojis we see on our phones. We asked her why the images can convey feelings better than words sometimes—and what her favorite emojis are. https://t.co/Xnd0XvnjAY
@klustout@ravi_hiranand I was at Apple at the time, and watching this piece has brought back all kinds of memories. You did a fabulous job! Loved watching it 🥰.
@neil_jhaveri And I remember (re)designing this app. Fun times indeed. A full exercise on how to make Notes feel like paper without looking like paper. 😅

Estos lápices plantables son espectaculares. Los usas como cualquier otro lápiz, solo que cuando esté por terminarse, lo clavas en una maceta y crecerá una planta.

Oh, the memories these designs bring back. I remember designing the Notes app, while Raymond and Laurent did Calendar and Address Book. We sat next to each other, and during our coffee and tea breaks we’d take a guess at the type of stitching Steve would approve.
@sdw I believe Mikio deeply influenced the stitching and the leather textures of this release. So a big shout-out to him as well! Mikio IMO is a master of these types of details… The more I look back the more memories that pop up.
