For over 20 years, we've dedicated ourselves to removing language barriers so people can learn, speak and connect more deeply than ever before.
Today, we’re taking our next step with the release of Gemini 3.5 Live Translate — our latest audio model for live, speech-to-speech translation across 70+ languages. 🧵
PSA: the IDE in Antigravity 2.0 is alive and well, we just landed an update to the UI which makes it more clear (see top right).
Sorry for the confusion on this (pls keep feedback coming), we also just reset everyone’s weekly limits. Enjoy the weekend : )
📣 Starting with the next stable Flutter release, 3.44, Swift Package Manager replaces CocoaPods as the default dependency manager for iOS and macOS apps → https://t.co/lbC5aWt9uG
This means no more messing around with Ruby or CocoaPods installations to get your app running!
The DESIGN.md upgrade is officially live in Stitch! 🚀
Yesterday we open-sourced the spec, and today we are giving you more tools to use it:
📄 Start with DESIGN.md: Attach a DESIGN.md right at the start of a project. Don't have one? Our new wizard will help you extract one from your code base or the web.
🔄 DESIGN.md to Design System: Upload a DESIGN.md file to generate a Design System on the canvas.
🧩 Token Support: Design Systems now support design tokens from DESIGN.md! Add them to your file and Stitch will seamlessly incorporate them.
🗑️ Clean Up: (You asked, we listened) You can now easily delete a design system.
We’re excited to build the open design standard together. 👇
Cloud Functions and Admin SDK for Firebase now supports Dart as an experimental feature 🎯
This means Flutter developers can use the same programming language throughout their whole stack and share logic between the frontend and backend.
🚨BREAKING: You can now run Claude Code for FREE.
No API costs. No rate limits. 100% local on your machine.
Here's how to run Claude Code locally (100% free & fully private):
Say hello to the new @GoogleAIStudio home page : )
We made it way easier to quickly get back to past chats, vibe coded apps, check project usage, and quickly start building with the new Omnibar. And this is just the start!
Here’s what those milestone terms mean inside Google’s internal release process (the terms visible in your Capybara screenshot):
Darksteel demo
Internal early demo to senior engineers or product leads. Used to prove technical feasibility before dogfooding.
Teamfood
Earliest working prototype shared only within the core development team. It’s the step before wider testing.
Fishfood
Internal testing by a slightly broader circle, such as immediate partner teams. A controlled test environment meant to catch big bugs before going company-wide.
Dogfood
Google-wide internal release where employees use the product in real workflows. The phrase “eating your own dog food” means testing the product in real use before public release.
Pre-Dogfood Bug Bash
A focused internal QA sprint where engineers fix as many bugs as possible before the main dogfood phase.
AIM Dogfood / Google Dogfood
Variants of the main dogfood stage for different divisions or product families (AIM likely refers to an internal team or model family).
Pre-launch checkpoint
Formal review step confirming readiness for public announcement. Includes sign-off from PM, QA, legal, privacy, and marketing.
Announcement
Public marketing milestone — external communications, blog posts, PR embargo lifts.
Ramp
Gradual rollout to users after announcement. Used to measure stability and collect telemetry before full GA (general availability).
So in essence:
The Capybara screenshot you have shows the standard internal launch tracking lifecycle Google uses to move from prototype to full public release.
From photo to figurine style in just one prompt.
People are having fun turning their photos into images of custom miniature figures, thanks to nano-banana in Gemini. Try a pic of yourself, a cool nature shot, a family photo, or a shot of your pup.
Here’s how to make your own 🧵
