The majority of time in GP land feels like paperwork/admin/staying on hold on the phone. Time spent face to face with patients is shockingly short. Especially considering how hard it often is to get those appointments.
35 mins on hold , shunted between a consultant, a registrar and a nurse specialist who all refused the admission. Finally was told to send the patient to A and E and they can refer on. None disagreed with diagnosis or need to admit but all had a reason not to see. What a mess!

Everyone says to go travel and enjoy life before residency, but what no-one says is how they afford it… currently working 3 jobs to save up for moving and start of intern year costs so that’s how I’ll be spending most of my relaxation period 😆
