@tigerfly22@volcaholic1 Air that’s 1deg C warmer can carry 7% more moisture.
Global average temperatures are rising… there is more energy in our atmosphere.
So it’s wetter, when it’s wet.
Yeah, we have a problem. It’s much more serious than “the weather is weird”
This is the #ClimateEmergency
It's not MY "opinion". It's all the evidence-based science & research data from thousands of scientists with expertise in many different fields involved in climate change science.
The costs of NOT transitioning away from burning fossil fuels to renewable energy sources as soon as we can is many times higher.
Fossil fuels are volatile commodities. When global gas prices spiked, it was European citizens who suffered highest bills. Solar and wind have zero fuel costs. Once built, they lock in cheap, stable domestic power, permanently insulating citizens from geopolitical energy shocks (e,g Iran war).
Moving to green tech creates high-quality local jobs (EVs, batteries, green steel), while resisting it means losing industries to global competitors.
No one is forcing China or India. China is leading the world by installing more solar and wind than everyone else combined. Because it's the cheapest way to feed and power their people.
Fossil fuels historically lifted millions out of poverty, but clinging to them now creates new poverty through extreme weather damages, agricultural failures, and high healthcare costs from air pollution.
Transitioning to renewable energy sources is how governments can make citizens' lives better now & in the future.

@DrJamesEHansen To those who talk big about wanting a “controlled experiment”, it just occurs to me: every year is the same, but with the knobs in a slightly new (worsening) position…
@rahmstorf@Climate_of_apes Could it be that accurate measurements of a slowing AMOC are serious enough to threaten the fossil fuels industry???
^^^ this question becomes slightly more salty with time.
@Acyn Ok let me just put it right here .
Wind turbines and solar is the future and no one can change that , just a fact .
Also the defense part is also handled by nations that know what they doing 🇩🇰
I just received an angry letter from a Jewish person
He says that me drawing attention to Israel's use of white phosphorus on civilians is fueling anti-Semitism
I think he has this whole thing backwards
Fossil fuels were given over $7 TRILLION in subsidies last year: https://t.co/xGqpR4WS7M That's $19.2 billion per day,
$799 million per hour,
$13.3 million every minute.
The first step in addressing the problem is to stop funding it. #ActOnClimate#climate#energy #panelsnotpipelines #cdnpoli
Fascism does not arrive saying “I am fascism.” It arrives saying “law and order,” “border security,” “anti-woke,” “election integrity,” and “national emergency.”
