These birds belong to the wading bird family of ibis and #spoonbill.
They are about 70-95 cm long & weigh about 1-2 kgs.
They prefer extensive, shallow wetlands and are found in Europe, Asia & Africa.

A Spot-billed Pelican at #Ranganathittu (#Mysore)- These pelicans breed in Southern Asia (from southern Iran across the peninsular India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Indonesia), can be 4-5 ft long, weighing 4-6 kgs with wingspans from 7-8 ft & beaks measuring 11-14 inches.
