When I started my CBN job in Abuja, I had a mai wanki Mallam Nura. This was in 2014.

Very diligent man, hard working, and did his best to ensure he delivered on time.

Similar to this, I tried reaching him on the phone, but couldn't get across. Decided to track him too because it was out of character for him.

Located the house, and I got some story about someone stealing from the Oga, and him blaming Mallam Nura for it.

He had Mallam Nura locked up, and just moved on with his life.

He was locked up in Apo police station.

I went there from work the next day, and asked the police to see Mallam Nura.

Mallam Nura explained a burglary happened, and he was blamed for it while he had nothing to do with it.

I can't remember the full details, but it was more like the man had beef and wanted to teach Mallam Nura a lesson.

I asked to bail him, and they said he would be arraigned the next day at Gudu court.

I got a converted-to-family family member that's a lawyer to represent him while I foot the bills.

They asked for his surety for the bail, I stood in for him.

The case kept on for months, and the accuser kept refusing to show up as a witness until the case got completely struck out.

We big people indeed have to stand in for these people where we know them, and can vouch for them.

There are so many unjust people who simply think they can inflict such unfairness, and get away with it.

Whenever I come back from “the abroad”, the first thing I look for is Suya and roasted corn. My Mai Suya are very diligent. The only days they are not there are on Sallah holidays.

Having been “in the abroad” for more than a month, I looked forward to my local ram suya. They were not there on Saturday. I thought “That’s odd!” They were not there again on Sunday. I felt that something must be wrong.

When they were not there again by 12 noon on Monday, as they usually are everyday, I was really concerned.

There is a smart young woman who does a POS business near them. I asked her why they had not come for three days and she said that they had a little problem. I asked her what “little problem” they had.

Apparently, someone had come to buy Suya from them. While he was buying the Suya, a car thief entered his car and drove it away. He then accused my Suya guys of being responsible for the theft of his car, since he was buying Suya from them when it was stolen. He had all of them arrested and locked up!

I asked for their numbers and the POS lady said that they had seized all their phones. I didn’t know which police station they were at. I didn’t know their names and on the occasions that I had paid for my suya with a bank transfer, I didn’t save their account details that would have shown a name at least.

I started asking the people I knew in the police, but felt a bit silly saying “I am looking for four Suya guys that were arrested.”

I was determined to intervene because I know that it was just one “big man” taking out his frustrations on some little guys. How long does it take to buy Suya that they will have enough time to organise for your car to be stolen?

Those guys have been on that street for 20 years. They sell four full rams every day. They have come to my house to roast ram suya when I have had major social events.

I asked another Suya guy who sells beef suya nearby whether he had any of their phone numbers but he said that even he doesn’t have a phone, never mind having anybody’s phone number.

After searching for them for a week, I finally found a guy who said that they had now been bailed from the police station and were considering resuming their business. They had lost at least two weeks and were so traumatised by the experience that they did not want to return to the same location on Ebitu Ukiwe where they had been for 20 years!

I arranged with the guy who knew them that he will take me to go and see them when I return from my current trip. I will see if I can persuade them to return to their usual spot next to the diligent POS young woman and the nice lady that sells roasted corn. Perfect combination!

This country can be brutal when you are not a big man. Those of us who are not small in our own right have a duty to help protect the little guys from the typical Naija “big man.” I will find that their accuser, somehow, someway. You might think that you are a big man but “Even your boo get a boo (a boo, a boo).”

You'll all recall during the Mokwa Flood Incident that happened on the 29th May 2025, where we saw the Niger State Governor HE @HonBago, ignored his people despite being in the country and flew to Cairo before proceeding to Hajj.

You will also recall how the @NigerStateNG dropped an Emergency Distress Account of FirstBank asking all donations for the flood victims should be channel there and people were criticizing them here.

You also remember one Media Aide called Abdulberqy @Nupenchii_ was updating the public on the inflows of cash and relief material donated by sympathizing individuals, local and international organizations but stopped at one point in July for reason best known to him and his paymaster.

The incident that killed over 200 souls and displaced over 4000 people during last rainy season might be interesting you to know that nothing has been done for the surviving victims. When I said nothing, I mean nothing serious like building houses for the victims, the flood site is still there and people are sleeping under dilapidated houses.

The rainy season came and went, the dried season came and went and another rainy season is here yet, the government of the day doesn't pity the dead people by offering any permanent solution, rather they are fixated on how to win the next election.

The donations as at when Abdulberqy stopped publicizing were over 5 billion, We've asked for accountability and transparency, yet, nothing has been done for the victims.

The following pressing questions remain unanswered:

· What is the total amount received?
· Where are the funds currently held?
· What specific actions have been taken with the funds so far?
· Why has the Special Adviser ceased public updates on the donation status?
· Why were donations from Nami withheld?
· Which other contributions have gone unacknowledged or unprocessed?
· Why are the victims still without adequate support?

It has been over a month since the groundbreaking ceremony; what is preventing the commencement of actual work?

Those who have inserted the names of their relatives and associates — whether District Heads, Chairpersons, Directors General, or other officials — must be prepared to account for their actions. Ample time has been provided for corrective measures, yet management control games appear to have taken precedence over due process. The outcome of this matter will ultimately reveal who acted in good faith.

A formal petition has been adopted, and all requisite documentation has been filed with the @officialEFCC.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the EFCC officials for their assurance of an immediate investigation, as well as to our dedicated legal team, supporters, victims, and all individuals worldwide who stand against injustice.

Until justice is served, there shall be no reprieve for those who engage in greed and malfeasance.

Do y'all remember this post, by the time I was making this post, my cousin had escaped from the bandit custody, the bandit haven't realized this accepted the 3M we were pleading them to collect.

They later requested for a new bike with 25 litres of fuel and the house was taxed again to buy the bike and delivered to them to rescue our cousin. We had to negotiate with the bike person to collect half of the money and agreed to be paying installments.

On their way to take the bike to the bandits, my cousin reached out home letting us know he had escaped from their den and he is in a village, we didn't take the bike to them again and began sourcing for a way to go get our cousin.

It was a Fulani that had saved him and even gave him the phone to called home, it was already late and everyone was scared to go into the location the fulani man gave coz its in a bush.

They informed the police and the vigilantes, the police as usual, were also scared to go into the bush with them, it was one of the vigilantes that summoned the courage to go into the bush with one of my uncles to go fetch him from the Fulani.

They came back with him to the nearest town and he was rushed to the hospital coz he couldn't walk again after running in the bush for almost 4 days😭😭

Tell me why the police refused to let us take him home until they extorted my uncles to pay 200k😭😭 they requested 200k for doing nothing and were hellbent on letting our cousin go to Mokwa for further treatment until they had to be paid 100k.

The @NigerianPolice, is this how you people operate?, you are collecting money when the life of the victim is almost going and your men stood their toes neglecting the fact this person was just rescued from and lying almost dead.

We had to source for another money to pay the police, the vigilantes and the Fulani man before he was returned home in the early hours of today.

He had been taken to the hospital and receiving treatment, everyone is coming to greet him and he can't even open his mouth to talk, he has been crying 😭😭😭

Everyone has been crying too, I pray Nigeria never happened to anyone especially in the hands of this kidnappers.
