We have lost the ability to have respectful civil discourse and be a cohesive community even when we disagree, and the next generation will pay the price

My Kindle showed me how much @timkellernyc has influenced me over the years. I feel like i'm always in the middle of reading one of his books (in fact i'm reading one right now). Sad to hear of Tim Keller's passing but grateful for him helping me see the beauty of the gospel.
The death of @timkellernyc is an incalculable loss to the church, the world, to those of us who loved him, those of us he helped in our darkest hours.
This is gain for Tim, now in the presence of Christ. He need no longer explain the reason for God, just to enjoy him forever.
Timothy J. Keller, who was the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, co-founder of Redeemer City to City, and the author of several books, died at the age of 72 on May 19, trusting in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.
I believe homophobia and transphobia are two of the greatest evils facing American Christianity today.
But here's the thing... NONE of it is rooted in Jesus or the Bible. It’s rooted in societal change.
In other words, anti-LGBTQ+ people are caving to culture.

My Honest Reality

Welcome to the 2023 baseball season.
Opening Day is around the corner. Pitchers are almost ready. Position players are locked in. Fans share the optimism a new season brings.
But this isn't just another season.
This is likely my last.
We went through a couple weeks where 3 of my kids + my wife got Covid and finally recovered. For some (unrelated) reason this month I've had more friends/acquaintances getting Covid than the last 6 months combined.
Finally saw "All That Breathes" and surprisingly I did NOT like it. However, I also recently watched an Indian documentary "About Love" (Archana Phadke, 2019) -- it's now one of my favorite docs. I highly recommend "About Love" if you want to watch a doc about an Indian family.
