Do Ashley and Koi actually love their children? 1ts off from the perspective of someone who has read the whole universe of IF YOU CAN by Zignim, I’d say they definitely love their kids. We have to remember that as readers, we have a "god eye view" of everything, but each character feels and experiences things differently from us. Zig is seriously a genius for creating stories that are so unique yet so tightly interconnected.
Tbh, i won't blame you if you find Ash and Koi’s parenting style impossible to accept, but let me explain it from my point of view.

In Zig’s world, Dominant Alphas are not normal at all they have zero sense of guilt. They could literally wreck the world without caring less. Ashley was terrified that their kids will turn out just like his grandfather, Dominic Miller, whom he absolutely loathed. Ashley himself even thought that if he hadn’t met Koi, he would’ve become a madman and a danger to the world. But thanks god! love changed everything. When they ended up having 6 kids, he loved them because Koi loved them, and he didn't want to treat his children the way Dominic treated him.
Koi is super innocent, so Ashley did take advantage of that a little bit, haha. Initially, he didn't stop the kids from clinging to their mom, even though he was fiercely jealous. But after their second child, Grayson poisoned Koi, Ash knew he couldn't let them harm his wife ever again. Koi’s Dominant Omega scent is so attractive and heavily affects Dominant Alphas, which is why Grayson and Stacy always wanted to stick to their mom. When Koi was poisoned, Nathaniel the eldest son knew it too. He internally cursed his younger brother as an idiot, like: "Why did you actually did it- you were only supposed to just think about it"

From then on, Ashley separated Koi from the kids and raised them his own way. He figured he had to teach them how to pretend to be normal like everyone else so they wouldn't harm the world. Since he knew A+ have to release their pheromones or else they'll go crazy, he taught Nathaniel.
The eldest son is super smart, so he understood and basically became independent in his own world. Grayson, on the other hand, was the one Ash taught the most because this kid openly showed twisted and extreme thoughts. Ash had to teach him how to smile, read other people's emotions, what self defense is, how to use a baseball bat... And why did Grayson want to find eternal love? Because he saw his dad and mom having that lifelong, eternal love right in front of him.

What about Chase? He is the most different child in the house because he has emotional sensitivity just like Koi so so so innocent, cute, and pure. But in Ashley's eyes, all A+ are the same. When Koi saw Chase getting hurt by Grayson, it broke his heart, so Ash punished Grayson and strictly banned him from going near his younger brother. Around that time, Koi and Ash bought Chase an oriole bird so the boy would know how to care for and cherish something. But when the bird died, Ashley couldn't comprehend how heartbroken the kid was; he just said, "I'll buy you another bird."
Ashley simply doesn't have emotions for anything other than Koi ..it’s an uncurable side effect of using suppressants in the past.

Since then, a sentimental kid like Chase completely locked his mind and couldn't open up to his two fathers, even though Koi constantly hugged and showered him with love. Feeling so heartbroken for Chase, the two dads took him to a casting call for a "chocolate princess" role, thinking that exposing him to more people would help him open up and be happy again. The advertising agency for that commercial happened to be the company Ashley once defended back when he was a lawyer. And from this point on, Chase grew and got his own story, eventually being healed by Joshua Bailey.

Oh, and another thing: Ash never stopped his kids from loving whoever they wanted, regardless of social status, and he always provided them with a luxurious life. The one who hired bodyguards for Chase was Ashley, and the one who implanted microchips in the kids so they could be tracked if kidnapped was also him... and as you can see, Father Ash helped Grayson out when he asked for it. Once they grow up, every kid has to take responsibility for their own life anyway. To me, he played his role perfectly.
As for Koi, he always wanted to be close to his kids, constantly supporting and loving them. Honestly, if you read closely, you can see traces of both Ash and Koi in the children. Chase is sentimental, a bit innocent, loves only one person for life, and doesn't release pheromones at parties just like his father Ashley. Grayson's ears will perk up and twitch whenever he's happy or excited just like Koi. Even though people say he has no feelings, his body shows it clearly, and Dane actually noticed that.

umm for the youngest child, who is a Dominant Omega, they receive a ton of love and protection from their two dads. Part of it is because he's the youngest, but it's also because O+ are usually super vulnerable to attacks and often get dragged into being used as tools in this world. If anyone has heard about Knight Pitman's mom, you'll totally get what I mean.
This is getting way too long! For me, everything Zig nim created to link the stories together is just so good, so amazing. I have no idea how she could come up with and build it like that. I love it to absolute pieces! Pls give it a try and go read the whole universal. #릭미업이프유캔
