I’m thrilled and honored to announce that the brilliant @MarielenaNILC is the incoming President of @Kennedy_HRC.
An immigrant from Medellín, Colombia, and the daughter of factory workers, Marielena has spent her career fighting for immigrant rights, equity, and democracy. She brings a remarkable depth of experience, a powerful vision for justice, and a lifelong commitment to human rights to our team.
My parents taught me to respect the dignity of every human being. That is the ethos behind our work at Kennedy Human Rights. I’m deeply grateful for everything we’ve built together and for the human rights defenders whose courage has continued to inspire me every step of the way.
As I step into this next chapter, I will remain on the Board of KHRC and serve as President Emeritus. The future of the human rights movement is in extraordinary hands. Congratulations, Marielena! Onward!

CASABLANCA (1942) gets better every time you revisit it. The romance never feels separate from the world around Rick and Ilsa, so every joke, interruption and goodbye carries an extra weight. It’s Hollywood at its most effortlessly elegant.
