@joeymandrews The East Mids Railway service I was on earlier offered me connections to Luton Airport via the DART..... when arriving at Norwich π π€£
After a all to brief visit to Scotland its now time to head home and I'm heading south via a more direct route. LNER's Azuma 801229 waits at Edinburgh to form 1E20 to London Kings Cross, calling at 8 intermediate stations enroute to the capital.

I need to go back to Cobh at somepoint soon, just for the social media engagement, let alone the beautiful town! One of my best performing posts on F&T.
A highlight of my recent trip to Ireland was heading out of Cork to the coastal town of Cobh, a historic gateway to Ireland. The town is beautiful with St Colman's Cathedral sitting high above the harbour and with a cruise ship in port, there was a lively buzz around the town.
After 5 hours at home, I'm now on my way to Somerset with the obligatory stop at Gloucester services. I'll be on 900+ miles in 3 days by the time we reach our destination tonight, with almost 550 today alone!
Today is the start of a 9 day marathon of travel for work and leisure that includes Scotland, Bristol and Germany. Not worked out the mileage but I'm sure it'll be 4 figures.
First stop, to visit the wildlings north of the wall for work.
@colasgrid@S26PHY Nothing exciting, just an ever-changing plan and the usual lack of resources....
If nothing else over the last couple of weeks, I've learnt the names of some random junctions in Manchester π€£
@stephen37292ML Thanks @stephen37292ML, from a freight perspective it was obviously a frustrating one but we got everything moving in the end. Thanks to you and everyone for doing what you do!
I like the HSTs but they should never have been cascaded to Scotland as 'new trains'. Hopefully @ScotRail and @scotgov have a tender requirement for @LevelBoarding
As a side note I'd love to see some 5/6 car bi-mode FLIRTs in Scotland π
The Scottish Government has announced a procurement to replace ScotRail's InterCity high-speed trains. A commercial tender will now be launched in the coming weeks, setting out timescales for the replacement. This is good news as we work towards a green and reliable railway.
Today we opened our new maintenance hub in Tonbridge!
π· A Β£2.5 million investment.
π Itβs larger than nine double-decker buses
π A purpose-built hub to maintain our class 73s, 69s and 66s.
