VIDEO | Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra (@KapilMishra_IND) says, “It is a very tragic incident, and so many innocent people have lost their lives. The Chief Minister has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter. It appears that an illegal hotel was being operated there, and the restaurant was also allegedly running without proper authorization. There are no clear details available regarding its licenses. In addition, a unit registered under the Bed and Breakfast Scheme, which was introduced during the Commonwealth Games period, was also operating there. This unit had received a licence in 2024. Under the earlier Bed and Breakfast Scheme, licences were issued by the Tourism Department and were renewed every three years. However, there was no provision for regular monitoring during this period. Operators were required to submit a list every fifteen days to the local police station detailing the guests who had stayed at their premises. We are currently examining all these aspects as part of the magisterial inquiry. About a month ago, the Bed and Breakfast Scheme was withdrawn because several shortcomings had been identified in it. A draft of the new Bed and Breakfast Scheme has already been uploaded on the Delhi Tourism website for public feedback. Most likely, a new Bed and Breakfast policy will be introduced in Delhi within the next one-and-a-half to two months.”

VIDEO | Delhi: On Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's 'terrorist' remark against PM Modi, CM Rekha Gupta (@gupta_rekha) says, “I feel that the people of the Congress party have lost their mental balance and no longer have faith in any constitutional system or positions. A party that can criticise the country’s Armed Forces, abuse the courts, and speak against officials and leaders holding top positions, and even insult the Election Commission, does not regard the Prime Minister’s post with respect. When Rahul Gandhi speaks daily, he shows no sense of shame, nor regard for age or the dignity of the position, and says anything; his words are such that they cannot even be repeated. I believe that this party and its leaders have become completely bankrupt mentally, and commenting on them is a waste of time. Their condition will become even worse than what the Congress is facing today.”

When journalists raise questions it creates an issue.
When they remain silent, that too is questioned.
If the question doesn’t suit the hon'ble leader's preference it becomes a controversy.

VIDEO | Delhi: On the 28th Commonwealth Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers, Canada’s High Commissioner to India, Christopher Cooter, says, "The agenda of the meetings is very full, and there is a rich discussion ahead. We have so much in common in the Commonwealth, and democracy binds us together. Whether it is new technologies like AI or how parliaments are best administered, there is a great deal to talk about. This initiative began with a Canadian effort in 1969, and it is great to see it flourishing today here in India, the mother of democracy."
On the Iran situation, Cooter says, "More than ever, democracy is important. The examples around the world show us that people need to be heard and governments need to be accountable."
