For the last 5 years, I've been obsessed with one thing:
Helping books succeed.
I started publishing on Amazon KDP in 2022 with big dreams.
Like many new publishers, I thought success would come quickly.
It didn't.
Over the years, I published books that didn't sell.
I wasted money on covers that didn't attract readers.
I chose the wrong titles.
I wrote weak blurbs.
I picked poor keywords.
I made launch mistakes that cost me time, money, and confidence.
Some books failed because they weren't good enough.
Others failed because I didn't know how to present them.
Every mistake taught me something.
After five years of testing, failing, learning, and improving, I realized something:
Most authors don't need more luck.
They need better feedback before they publish.
That's why I'm building BookScore.
A simple tool that helps indie authors answer one important question:
"Is my book really ready to sell?"
The first feature is Free Cover Score.
It reviews your cover for:
• Title readability
• Genre fit
• Thumbnail strength
• Professional appearance
• Clickability
Later, BookScore will also review your title, subtitle, blurb, keywords, categories, pricing, and launch checklist—so you know what to improve before publishing.
I'm building BookScore in public.
I'll share what I'm learning, what I'm shipping, and the mistakes I'm making along the way.
If my five years of trial and error can save another author from making the same expensive mistakes, then every failure was worth it.
If you're an indie author, publisher, or someone dreaming of publishing your first book, I'd love to have you along for the journey.
Reply "cover" or send me your book cover and genre, and I'll give you a free manual review.
Let's build better books together.
What’s the hardest part about building as a solo founder?
• Staying consistent
• Finding customers
• Building the product
• Marketing
• Doing everything alone
@OptiMindInsight Thanks, I appreciate that! I’d definitely be interested in hearing a tip or two. Always looking for simple ways to improve my sleep without overcomplicating things
solo founder checklist today:
✅ shipped feature
✅ fixed 2 bugs nobody reported yet
✅ analyzed user behavior
✅ updated docs
✅ responded to 3 emails
❌ slept 6 hours
this is the game
sustainable speed > burnout hustle
but velocity feels different when you own everything
@OptiMindInsight Not regularly, but definitely more often than I should.
And yeah, I can feel the difference in focus and productivity the next day. Sleep is something I need to improve.
