Just a reminder that you all have now witnessed murder through your phone screen everyday for the past 2 months now.
You’re watching the genocide of an entire population.
That's not normal. Don't be desensitized.
Keep talking about Palestine. Push for a permanent ceasefire.
🔵 Update: Charges laid at protest 🔵
As police, our role is to facilitate safe, lawful & peaceful demonstrations in Calgary. We would like to thank the majority of demonstrators who were co-operative with police throughout yesterday’s protest.
We know that there have been several questions raised by community members following the charges that were laid yesterday. As the main protest was coming to a peaceful conclusion, approximately 100 demonstrators separated from them and attempted to block a major road, creating a dangerous situation between motorists & demonstrators. Several individuals within this group were not compliant with police & despite attempted negotiations, continued to impede traffic & escalate their behaviour, with some attempting to push through a line of police officers.
As a result of these behaviours, the following individuals were charged:
📌 In relation to three individuals pushing against police officers to break through the police line, Wassime TAHA, 30, Wafik KASSEM, 25 & Mohamed HAMDANIE, 25, have each been charged with one count of assaulting a peace officer.
📌 In relation to interference as police attempted to make an arrest, Mervat HAMDANIE, 27, has been charged with one count of obstruction of a peace officer. During her arrest, her hijab became displaced & officers immediately allowed this to be rectified.
As arrests were being made, a youth was also briefly taken into custody for his involvement in attempting to break through the police line. After his arrest, the youth’s parents were allowed behind the police line to de-escalate the situation. He was released without charges.
We continue to appeal to all demonstrators to act responsibly & protest within the laws. Anyone who jeopardizes public peace, endangers others, or participates in illegal activities, will be held accountable for their actions. If anyone feels they were not dealt with appropriately by police, they can file a complaint through our Professional Standards Section.

Whenever I tweet about the immense suffering being inflicted on Gaza, I get replies from pro-Israel accounts demanding that Hamas release the hostages. Here's a quick rundown of what's happening on that front. Tl;dr: Netanyahu doesn't care about the hostages
the current climate crisis is so inseparably tied to centuries of colonization and exploitative abuse that an activist going “i’m just here for the plants and animals” just sounds silly
When a child is forced to prove their innocence on something they didn’t do, they’ll spend their adulthood in defense mode when something goes wrong around them. They’ll assume blame is coming because of the early experience when they didn’t have the skills to defend themselves.
so israel…. is going to temporarily stop killing palestinians in north gaza………. so that they can ethnically cleanse them from their homes……. to south gaza….. where they are also killing palestinians…… before resuming killing palestinians in the north
BREAKING🚨: Israel admits apache helicopters fired on their own civilians running from the Supernova music festival.
“The pilots realised that there was tremendous difficulty in distinguishing within the occupied outposts and settlements who was a terrorist and who was a soldier or civilian… The rate of fire against the thousands of terrorists was tremendous at first, and only at a certain point did the pilots begin to slow down the attacks and carefully select the targets.”
