And people say that fat people are lazy, look at me, doing all this work for y'all.
Go read, watch, listen to fat people. Learn how you, too, have internalised fatphobia:
For anyone just now wading into the war on fat stuff for the first time, interested in learning more , but not knowing where to start: Welcome! Here are some accessible resources:

Easter was particularly bad, because 4 days without working or checking my email would have been disastrous in my academic role. I had to unlearn so many toxic relationships to work. That's fucked up. You deserve better and I hope your employers are listening โ๐ป
A bit late, but, although I'm no longer in academia, I support all my former colleagues and comrades who participated in strike action today. Precarity, low wages and unsustainable workloads are driving people out of this profession. You deserve job security! โ๐ป
You also deserve safe and supportive workplaces. I didn't realize how much the late nights, weekend work, and high stress had affected me until I left. After leaving, I was anxious most weekends, and I realised it was because I hadn't worked or checked my email.
Genuinely the sweetest person and I'm just so gutted for her and her family.
She is recovering back in NZ now, thankfully. Love to you Amanda โค๏ธโค๏ธ
A former student and tuakana of mine went to the US recently and became very ill while there. Her and her family are now facing $150,000 of medical debt. If you have any extra dollars burning a hole in your pocket:

@erinkburrell @drjulie_b Not me specifically, @Max_Soar led a paper on scholarships tho. This is way higher than any of the institutional scholarships. See table here:

Our spokesperson @LeonASalter writing in @ConversationEDU
"Rather than being called ECRS, we argue the term 'academic precariat' better reflects the reality... [of] insecure, short-term contracts, coupled with... disposability and marginalisation."

We've just wrapped up the live portion of #FSNZ22 with a live recording of @unsolicitedftb
It was so wonderful to share space with these beautiful fat folk. Fat girl fangirl moment, big time.
And now, a nap. <3
With just two live sessions of #FSNZ22 to go we are almost done with this whirlwind of a conference!
If you have not yet registered, you have a little over 12 hours to do so: https://t.co/eBxXLWdcoA
Live sessions have been recorded, and content is available until October!
I've been thanked a lot over the past 2 days for doing this. I cannot emphasise enough that I was not alone in this. Indeed, when we were first discussing whether to proceed with #FSNZ22, I told my fellow cmte members that I could not do this on my own.

I cannot stress enough how much work this took to organise, especially after @FOMNZ passed. This conference would not have happened without: @blackqueeriroh@kelsey_x@blackfatqueer@fatcritscholar Gurleen Khandpur, Nomonde Mxhalisa & Pallavi Nath
This evening! At 8:30PM NZST
I'm super excited about seeing these lovely folk speak. I don't talk about being queer all that often, but I'm really thrilled that we have made space for fat queer discussion at #FSNZ22, and to especially make it for our fat trans fam. โค๏ธ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ

@greeniememes Just in case it's helpful to you or another young person, I thought I'd mention Naming NZ a charitable org who help fund young people to change their ID docs. (We did some fundraising for them recently). They're listed as WLG but RainbowYouth has just acquired so maybe national?
