SO BASICALLY PUBLIC LIBRARIES ARE JUST 0.4% OF THE NEW YORK CITY BUDGET, BUT THE MAYOR IS TRYING TO CUT THE LIBRARY'S BUDGET WAY BACK. I’M TALKING $58.3 MILLION! LIBRARIES ARE ALREADY CLOSED ON SUNDAYS BECAUSE OF PREVIOUS CUTS AND MOST BRANCHES WILL BE OPEN FOR JUST FIVE DAYS A WEEK IF THESE CUTS GO THROUGH!! WE ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE END OF JUNE TO TELL @NYCMAYOR #NOCUTSTOLIBRARIES AND SAVE THE LIBRARY.

@potterhockey @literaticat I completely agree! I’m genrefied and I have such a hard time finding humor books! Also, MG books are way too long lately. It’s so hard to find good ones that are sub 200 pages.

At the 6/27 meeting of the Beaufort (SC) School Board, parent David Cook threw bags of chicken feed at school board members to punctuate his criticism of district officials for being “chicken” for not banning books from school libraries.
