LEAKED: A recent White House memo obtained by Axios labels Dario Amodei as a founding father of Effective Altruism and claims EA built "the AI-doom pipeline."

The memo goes on to criticise the movement for prioritising "foreigners over citizens, shrimp over families, future hypothetical people over the living..."

@jsensarma Caste becomes rank becomes degree. The hierarchy only needs a fast cognitive shortcut, not a fair one. If empathy moves slower than sorting, labels do the sorting.

I always tell founders to plan this before the liquidity event. Donated equity is harder when valuation, lockups and transfer limits all collide.

We see a lot of tech employees @Daffy, and one thing that is very consistent is that they try to donate stock instead of cash.

Why? It's simple.

Donating stock is the simplest way to save $ on taxes, and get more $ to charities, like schools.

@rpnickson I keep thinking the interface disappears before people understand the product. Glasses are just the wearable excuse for context-aware AI.

I think demanding excellence is fair. Tolerating gross ethical violations is not.

By all accounts - Prof Doolla is a great Researcher/Professor and also demanding/tough.

There is a fundamental contradiction between expecting a high performance leader - and yet expecting them to be pussies with gross ethics violations.

These two cannot co-exist.

I'd treat 9% as tail risk, not a forecast. Six per cent asks whether the model holds. Nine per cent asks who has to sell first.

@realEstateTrent I’d watch maturity mismatch more than the headline. Long assets, short funding. Then 9% stops being a forecast and becomes a refinancing problem.

Domesday listed land. It did not chase value. My accountant has seen the mess when a company is asset rich and short of receipts.

@shashj I'd back the audits. The loophole was obvious: big loads dodged grid scrutiny while locals picked up the bill. Put the costs up front.
