Yesterday was the 6th anniversary of my dad's passing. I posted a pic of him on FB. One of my sisters posted a different pic. This is his awesomeness on his 80th birthday. 80 lb. dumbbell one hand rows. While on an oxygen machine. My hero !
Comfort is a crutch. Do hard things.
@EricRSammons We have one in Indy where the Diocese closed the Parish a few years ago but the city is fighting it being demolished by claiming it's an historic building. Of course it is. But that shouldn't give a govt. the right to interfere.
75 years ago today: OU baseball won the 1951 national championship.
The Sooners defeated Tennessee in the championship game, 3-2, to become the first team in CWS history to roll through the double-elimination tournament without a loss.
Head coach Jack Baer said years later: "We just weren't a great team, but everybody worked hard. We had a couple of good hitters and two good pitchers, three really."
Along with the baseball title, OU also won the football and wrestling national championships, giving the Sooners the distinction of being the first school to win three titles in one school year.
@SlimWiggy@MLJHaynes@du_fuss I'm 65, came into the Church last year after being an "every Sunday" Baptist since birth. I too am troubled by this and the previous Pope. However, I am not going to leave the True Church due to the acts of men. This too shall pass. Keep your eyes on Jesus and rejoice in him!

After last night, it’s abundantly clear that it wasn’t just Trump, but America that dodged a bullet in 2024.
Just three years ago almost exactly, June 10, 2023, Joe Biden hosted dozens of sexual deviants on the South Lawn of the White House. It was a “pride event.” The gay little party even featured confused tranny men showing off their fake breasts, live and in color, from the official White House property.
It was gross sexual perversion on full display dressed up as an “inclusive” event.
Now, three years later, all I have to say is this: Thank God Trump is in the White House for America’s 250th birthday.

We're so divided that some people can't even enjoy the idea of a UFC fight at the White House ... and then the World Cup fans from around the globe remind us, thru sheer joy, how incredible we are, how amazing the USA continues to be. The mood is incredible, after just four days.
Great post..Great reminder! In part of the song "Oklahoma!" Is one of my favorite phrases, it's about Oklahoma but true throughout our great country "...and the land we belong to is grand!.."
We joke about winning the life lottery, because we were born in the USA, but it’s not far from the truth.
These visitors here for the World Cup are getting to experience what we often take for granted.
I live in Alabama. I can start in Mobile and drive north for 5 hours, and still be in Alabama.
My state has beautiful sandy beaches, and also has the foothills of the Appalachians. In between, we have a super speedway that pushes the limits of American muscle. Talladega.
NASA is here. The Army’s rotary wing flight school is here.
We have a festival every year to celebrate peanuts. We celebrate the harvest of a crop with funnel cakes and music.
2 teams from my state are currently in the College World Series, and that isn’t even our most popular sport.
Don’t even get me started on football Saturdays in the fall. It’s something else entirely.
My state is just 1 of 50 states that are all equally wonderful.
This country is awesome, and I do love it so. 🇺🇸
@LakesFirearmsTr@BudLightSadness Check my pinned post out Joe...
My old man could beat me Arm Wrestling until about 6 months before he passed away at 82. I spend several hours a week in the gym honoring his example. Some guys brought up in tough times were/are tough birds !
In America, a warehouse store. A fully roasted chicken costs five dollars, the raw chicken beside it costs seven, and I stood between them like a man between two truths.
Golden. Hot. Seasoned. Spinning in glory under the lights, in a line of its brothers. Four dollars and ninety-nine cents.
I checked the raw birds. Seven dollars. Pale. Cold. You must do everything yourself.
This is not commerce. Commerce does not move backward. Somewhere in this building, mathematics lies defeated.
I asked the man at the counter. "How is the cooked bird cheaper than the raw bird?"
"Been five bucks forever. They keep it that way."
"But the store loses."
"Yep. On purpose."
On purpose. I held my receipt with both hands.
In my land, a lord who lowered the price of rice in a hard winter was remembered for generations. They built him a small shrine. This store does it every day, with chicken, and tells no one.
A woman behind me grew tired of my reverence. "It's just a chicken, sir."
It is not just a chicken. It is a wound the merchant takes on purpose, so that anyone, on any day, with five dollars, eats like a lord. The bird is the message. The price is the vow.
I will confess: I bought two. I did not need two. The second was not hunger. It was gratitude, and it was delicious.
Some prices are not prices. They are promises.
I return every week now. I take one bird. I bow toward the deli, briefly, so as not to alarm the staff. They have begun nodding back.
The vow holds. The bird turns. Five dollars.
Long may it spin.
🚨 SHOCKING. DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin just dropped the brutal truth: Some migrant children trafficked under the Biden border disaster were raped 600-700 times.
"I don't care if you're liberal, independent, or Republican—if you can't back law enforcement rescuing these kids, who the hell are you?!" 💯
"We've located 146,000 kids so far. Nearly 300,000 still missing. This is what open borders delivered."
Democrats either don't care or pretend it never happened. Pure evil.
Thank God for President Trump and this team finally hunting down the monsters and fixing the mess.
Every American needs to see this. Share if you stand for these kids. 🇺🇸
This clip of Charles Payne during Obama's second term is really incredible. Well done Charles.
In 2010 Obama put the federal government directly in charge of lending money to students. Eliminating private lending made the loans much easier to get, but they were not less expensive.
Before Obama took office, outstanding student debt was less than $100 billion. By 2015, outstanding student debt was approximately $800 billion and almost a third of the borrowers were in default. Of course the price of college continued to soar the entire time.
This is the best part. Payne predicted that someday the politicians would be promising to forgive student debt as a way to buy votes. He was spot on.
There are people like Ro Khanna on this site right now arguing that Elon Musk should be paying down the student debt when it's a problem that politicians created.
