This is incredible. @JJEnglert successfully flashed Meta's Muse open-source AI agent onto a wearable ESP32-S3 development board and added full voice integration.
Who else is grabbing an ESP32 touch-screen board to build their own custom Muse this weekend?
Recently learned that Schmidhuber’s Formal Theory of Fun and Creativity, covering compression progress and intrinsic motivation and their relationship to beauty, curiosity, art, science, music, and jokes, was published in a Japanese scientific journal in 2009.

It is wild that this framework: compression progress as the basis for beauty, curiosity, art, science, and even jokes, was laid out in full formal detail in a Japanese journal 15 years ago.
Hermes Webapp, now on your phone 📱
Mobile update to my @NousResearch PR: hermes webapp now fits phones and tablets. The composer stays above the keyboard, Copy and More are thumb-sized, and a reply keeps streaming through a page reload.

@omarsar0 My mental model for what is happening is that 99%+ of people who are now paying attention have been onboarded to anything related to AI in <1 year. This is very confusing to the AI dinosaurs (anyone in AI for pre 2026. Or even, gasp, pre 2012).
12 months of progress on the jagged frontier:
1) AI got spikier, not rounder.
2) Maths, fluid reasoning, expert work: past human level.
3) There is almost no middle ground. Once a capability crosses human level, it often quickly becomes 100x+ cheaper than a human.
4) Cost keeps decreasing after capability increases stop. Language and knowledge look saturated but price keeps falling.
5) The gaps are not a budget issue. Human-level memory, self-monitoring and long-run planning are not for sale at any price.
AI is now a superhuman specialist that is sub-human at running itself.
I'm at OpenAI DevDay today and it's really striking how little emphasis there seems to be on safety and security here. I'm not sure Sam mentioned it once in his keynote this morning. The agenda appears to have one security-related session out of 17.
I am absolutely loving this book.
Everyone has struggled to understand tensor calculus (I mean the real "tensors" with Christoffel symbols, metric etc).
Most textbooks just puts out magical definitions for you to memorize without providing any insights or giving you any explanations of where things came from.
On the other hand, pop-sci/pop-math books just tells you how amazing things are but without any details on what exactly those things are.
The gap is so serious that it has haunted me for decades and I have started to take things in my own hand (I mean put it in AI's hand). 🧵
If I am reading this correctly, Tristan Buckmaster is alleging OAI has a resolution of Navier-Stokes(via Córdoba and Martínez-Zoroa’s program) which maybe used info from Buckmaster and Levent Alpöge’s private Codex sessions
What the fuck is happening!!!
Live action with real robots instead of animation: episode 3!
This was the very first take. Pretty much everything went wrong and I almost stopped filming. Then I realized Microduck was giving an Oscar-winning performance.
Enjoy!
