@shiftms Yes. That, plus the old, “how are you doing, sweetie? I hope you feel better soon.” You’d think that after more than 20 years, they would know it doesn’t work like that.
@RachelHorne19 I want to be sympathetic, but her whole, “I have MS but not THAT kind of MS, “attitude rubbed me the wrong way. Also, as much as it really sucks that we’re treated that way, I get it.
Did you know there's a word for the pathological fear of being misunderstood? It's ambiguphobia... and I feel like it needs to be studied in the context of autism because I'm convinced they would find the prevalence to be off the charts for autistic people. 😅
@sensorystories_ Yes, please. The feeling that I said/did something wrong so I need to do over so that people won’t think I’m the worst is so, so strong.
“If you are not disabled and you regularly go to a yoga class, a book group or just the pub, when was the last time you did so with even a single disabled adult present?”
Thanks to @johnharris1969 for being one of the rare columnists to ask these Qs. https://t.co/C2fRPaxEls
Whoever shot this 17 minute video showing a drive through Pacific Palisades one month ago had no idea how historic it would become.
If you’re not from Los Angeles, this might give you a better idea of what we’ve lost. Please keep in mind this is just ONE street. This doesn’t include the entire Pacific Coast Highway, most of Altadena, and an additional 18 miles of Pacific Palisades. 💔💔💔
@adhdjesse When I think of the shit, I went through as a kid… I was like, “if people could figure this out about me in college why couldn’t they figure this out in elementary school? Do over!”
@hearinladotcom Was livid yesterday when I heard about the whole LA 2.0 thing, but, as they say, “he may be a son of a bitch, but he’s our son of a bitch.”
@sensorystories_@commaficionado Yep. I’m diligent about putting stuff in my calendar, and the first thing I do every morning is check my calendar for what’s going on that day, but unless it’s something I do or address immediately there’s a really good chance. I’ll forget about it.
@sensorystories_ For me, it’s not about feeling right but more about feeling heard. Like, I’m OK with people agreeing with me as long as they’ve actually listened to why I’m right, or feel that I’m right.
@flowergirl_lon Also, since he’s young, everywhere between Russell Square and st pancras. Definitely not gritty urban fare, but I never got over how many colleges were right there, all up against each other right in the middle of the city
@flowergirl_lon Downtown: the last bookstore, Grand Central market, Bradbury building, angel’s flight, all kinds of cool old buildings around there, many of them boarded up, but the façades are still amazing.
@flowergirl_lon So if that’s the case, Southbank, barbican, centre point, bermondsey, all kinds of terraced houses(fancy Georgian or post war, doesn’t matter since we don’t have them in LA)
