BREAKING: Traders placed a series of bets worth $430 million on a drop in crude prices just 15 minutes before U.S. President Donald Trump said he would extend a ceasefire with Iran.
It is the third time this month, and the fourth in total, that large, well-timed directional bets on the oil price have been made shortly before major announcements on the Iran war.
The traders gained millions.
Unusual.
An unarmed Iranian ship was invited, along with the U.S., to be part of an Indian Naval exercise, and its sailors paraded on land before the president.
The U.S. at the last minute pulled out of the exercise and instead attacked the Iranian ship with a torpedo.
Breaking with all norms of civilization and warfare, we then refused to rescue the drowning survivors. The Sri Lanka Navy was left to pull the dead bodies from the water.
I am hard pressed to think of any other nation throughout history that would do something so cowardly and despicable. We are genuinely in a league of our own, and American media — mostly shrugging off the bombing of a girls school and acting as if carpet bombing Tehran is a normal military tactic — is deeply complicit.
Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Tesla collectively received $51 billion in tax breaks, thanks to the Trump and GOP corporate tax cuts signed into law last year.
Together they effectively paid a federal tax rate of 4.9%, according to @iteptweets.
ICE roving around a city asking people “are you an American citizen” is very different from proactively identifying and targeting a dangerous illegal immigrant for deportation. This is why people are upset.
U.S. billionaires reached a record breaking $7.6 trillion in wealth as of September 2025, an increase of $4.7 trillion in the less than eight years.
Most of that wealth hasn’t been taxed and won’t be taxed under our current system — per @4TaxFairness.
The problem the right apparently doesn’t recognize is that yall were elected to get grocery prices down, to get rent down, and get mortgage rates down.
Instead you’re sending electric bills through the roof, fueling inflation, and you’ve made home construction insanely more expensive through both tariffs and immigration policy. Oh and health care costs are soaring.
So people are significantly worse off in the ways that matter since you were elected.
And from the outside, all it looks like you care about doing is going after comedians who offend you and dictating what people can say and arming Israel to the teeth so it can keep committing a genocide people thought you would stop, and nobody can understand why it’s still happening.
So as the economy gets worse and worse, you’ll look more and more out of touch for spending all your time trying to censor speech and defend Israel.
But go ahead, get The View canceled. That’ll help!
The richest 1% of people now own nearly 45% of all wealth, while 44% of humanity are living below the World Bank poverty line of $6.85 per day, per Oxfam.
This doesn’t seem to be getting enough attention. The Silicon Valley social contract forced on the public by Obama and then Trump and then Biden (minus Lina Khan) and now Trump was straight forward: We will let these bros become the richest people in human history and in exchange they will develop a tech industry that makes the U.S. dominant for a century.
They did the first part, then built monopolies to try to keep out competition rather than continue to innovate at a top level, and then got out-competed by Chinese companies in both AI and social media. They are the losers we always thought they were — and now so are we.
