A sunny day in Edinburgh at the Great Hall of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. The frieze around the room was painted by William Hole in 1898, with a painted zodiac ceiling above.

A monochrome view of the Victorian Neo-Gothic building of the John Rylands Library. Located on Deansgate in Manchester it was founded by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands in memory of her husband. It opened in 1900 and is now part of the University of Manchester.

At this time of the year the Moon appears to only just make it over the horizon, rising in the south east. Fortunately the Lovell Telescope was was looking in the same direction.

Looking up into the dome of the reading room of the British Museum in London. Completed in 1857 it has a cast iron framework with the ceiling made of papier-mâché, suspended from the frame.
