Daniel Egbuniwe is entering the transfer portal he tells me. The 6’7 wing from Memphis Tennessee had a productive season for the Bonnies! 👇

Playing 31 games and starting 19 of them Egbuniwe had averages of 8.2 PPG, 3.2 REB. 1.1 AST and about 1 steal per contest. He posted splits of 42/40/74 on a diet that consisted of 4 attempted 3s per night.

Egbuniwe is super versatile as a wing. Where he has really improved is in the shooting category. He went from a 17% 3 point shooter his Freshman year on 1 attempt per game to a 40% shooter his senior year on 4 attempts. He was 9th in 3PT% in the whole A10 conference as well. He really strives as a catch and shooter and has shown flashes of a movement shooter at times.

With the development of his shot Egbuniwe also became a solid dribble driver. He finished at a 53% clip around the rim. He is comfortable with finishing on both sides of the hoop and also can create opportunities with his lengthy frame.

He is also an impactful rebounder. Especially on the defensive end. He did not have as an impactful rebounding season as he did in past years but he was also with one of the best rebounders in the country Frank Mitchell. This year Daniel averaged 2.3 defensive rebounds per game and 3.2 overall. In his prior season with Tennessee Tech he averaged 6.5 rebounds. So he is an active member on the class more than the numbers show. He also has a 12.2 DR% which is strong for a wing his size.

Egbuniwe shows good versatility on the defensive side of the ball. Being 210lbs he has the ability to matchup with wings and some bigs. He has shown flashes of being a very good rim protector as well, where he can save possessions on help side blocks. He can also stick with some guards which at his size is very impactful and something coaches value.

Overall an experienced wing who has improved every season. An ultimate 3nD guy who can provide depth to any team in need. I’m excited to see where he lands next season!

Attorney Darren Heitner — who’s working in unison with fellow attorney Ryan Downton — tells me that a court in Ohio has enjoined the NCAA to allow players who sued to gain immediate eligibility for a fifth season.

The players involved can also enter the Transfer Portal.
