Friends come over, and within 10 minutes someone wants to change the colour of the room.

Our smart bulb needs the Wipro app, an account and me sharing the device. Nobody does that for one evening.

So I built Chintu: a web app that turns the bulb into a group chat 🧵

That last part made it fun. It stopped being my bulb and became the room's bulb.

Under the hood: Next.js on Vercel, the bulb's Tuya cloud API, voice input in the browser, and an offline parser so common commands work even when the AI model is down.

You open a link. No app to download.

Type "make it blue", hold a button and say it, or tap a colour. It understands Hindi too.

Every change shows up in one shared chat with a name and a time. When the room turns red, you can scroll up and see who did it.
