@mnolangray - At the Barbican, try to go when the Conservatory is open
- Spitalfields Market/Brick Lane area is a very chaotic mix of old and new with good books/records/art shops
- If you go to Westminster Abbey, spring for the Jubilee galleries. Way less crowded and interesting artifacts

@lindaholmes I don’t know if you have ever played the point and click game Firewatch, but in that game I found it very profound that in the end you can’t change the outcome if you make the “right” or “wrong” choices.

@dfdunham They really are! The DMA is a uniquely confusing version where the main galleries are stepped half levels, an internal street ramps in the opposite direction, and then half the building is traditional stacked floor plates.

@lindaholmes Cunk on Earth on Netflix is a real dumb mockumentary of British history shows with just a zillion silly jokes. Perfect half hour length too.

@emilynussbaum It’s one of Leonard Maltin’s favorite movies. I took his film class in college and apparently it was one of the only movies he ever showed to multiple classes (the movies were always current releases). Great film!

@ihatejoelkim I learned today that my boyfriends mom believes I love cherry candy canes. I possibly took one a few years ago when offered but no one knows for sure. I do not have any strong feelings about cherry candy canes.

@dfdunham Gounahs tower is still there but the diocese bought it and knocked off the top floor so the church is taller. It’s now a restaurant.

@dfdunham One of the reasons for the current design is bc a man named Adolphe Gounah built an observation tower taller than the previous church on the same hill. Gounah later founded a utopian society in Texas after his communist plot to overthrow the French government failed.
