Hi! Morning Consult is eliminating its newsroom. That's a real bummer, I worked there!
Looks like it is also discontinuing the Tech Brief newsletter, which I wrote daily for an audience of 12,000 (and growing).
That sucks!
@itsjwills@hiimdabby You're asking different questions than what your poll question was. But, to me, the simple answer to all of them is this: Until Giannis bangs the table and demands out in a way that makes any other option untenable, you hang onto him.
@BucksBallKnower@bucksinfour What has he heard and how did he hear it though? I l desperately want you to be right so I’m willing to go along for the ride here, just like, what’s his connection other than born in Milwaukee? Ties to ownership, ties to Giannis camp?
@EdTreisJr@MaxsAllStars@TCIIIESQ21 Is this mostly reading the tea leaves and conjecture or are you working with some first-hand info? (Asking genuinely, so little of the Bucks side of all these dealings is publicized that any informed detail would be illuminating.)
@hiimdabby Not a shot at anyone, I know he's just doing an exercise and I respect fandom brain finding positivity anywhere. But people who want to move on from Giannis and talk themselves into rosters like this are under the false impression that change for change sake is necessarily good.
@Bucks_Breakdown@ckeller141 Asked him in Bucks Discord about if Giannis wants a 2nd star or if that’s just how Bucks interpret his asks. Just responded with more about making a “big splash” (did call Jenkins hire a version of that) and suggested they might not have time/desire for more big game fishing
@MKEBucks91@DC_Bucks_Fan@SmellyBucksFan Horst said multiple times they’d pursue two paths: keep Giannis or trade Giannis. Have yet to hear anyone report a single detail on the “keep Giannis” path (which is my preference). What’s that option look like?
@GeryWoelfel@OffseasonKuz You've called Horst's draft record "abysmal," said he's "frivolously given away" picks, called his rosters "putrid and ill equipped to compete," "a glorified G League team." (You're not wrong!) You'd like Giannis to blindly endorse him? You'd call Giannis delusional if he did.
@Bucks_Breakdown Not as risky as it appears imo. Giannis Year 1 salary with new team would be ~$60.6m. No team has that space projected in '27-28, would have to clear it. Meanwhile, if he signs the extension, you have a full year where he's not trade-eligible to show him he should stay.
@ProctrDoctr Given Jim O's general view of the situation (he's banging the "trading Giannis signals ownership has no interest in contending" drum), hard for me to read the article as anything but laying out the case for not making a deal. (I also want that outcome so, bias rears its head.)
@Bucks_Breakdown FWIW, when Jenkins first brought him on staff in Memphis, it was as an offense-focused assistant (though that was basically a lost year, so hard to evaluate anything there): https://t.co/FuGnRPfOgt
@ajdell Once again, this is unfortunately exactly how info typically moves. I share the stuff that I can verify.
You are welcome to draw your own conclusions. But there is being first, and being right. I try and leverage the relationships I have to share info that falls into the latter.
@BucksRealm@Bucks_Breakdown Like, you added zero information that the Shams of the world haven't already shared a dozen times and then declared yourself "the one to confirm it." Give it a rest!
@BucksRealm Hi friend, noticed you've deleted the post I replied to with some of your past predictions in order to hide it. Must have been a mistake on your end since you've encouraged people to check the receipts! I'll just leave them here for you!
