Shri Paresh Ranpara has assumed charge as Director (Personnel) of NHPC Limited, a premier Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, on 30 July 2026. Prior to his appointment as Director (Personnel), NHPC, Shri Ranpara was serving as Director (Human Resources) at Grid-India, where he was responsible for providing strategic leadership in the areas of human resource management, talent development, organizational capability building and workforce planning.
Shri Ranpara is a Human Resource professional with over 31 years of rich experience in the power sector, spanning both public and private organizations. He holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Sardar Patel University. He is also a Certified Assessor from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
In Grid-India, Shri Ranpara placed strategic emphasis on Learning & Development by building partnerships with reputed institutions and strengthening capability frameworks. To ensure long term leadership continuity, Shri Ranpara successfully implemented succession planning initiatives anchored in competency frameworks. He has also explored and advanced opportunities for international consulting assignments in capacity building.
Prior to joining Grid-India, Shri Ranpara served as Head of Human Resources at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), where he was responsible for formulating HR policies for the GUVNL group comprising over 60,000 employees. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the successful unbundling of the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) by leading the organizational change management and communication process. He was instrumental in designing and implementing the Performance Management System across GUVNL group companies and spearheaded key HR initiatives relating to organizational restructuring, right-sizing, manpower planning and succession planning for senior leadership positions in Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL). He also conceptualized and implemented several leadership development, employee motivation and competency enhancement programmes, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning to equip the workforce with emerging skills required to meet the evolving needs of the power sector, particularly in the context of increasing renewable energy integration.
As Director (Personnel), NHPC Limited, Shri Ranpara will provide strategic direction to the Company's human resource functions. His responsibilities will encompass human resource planning, talent management, organizational development, industrial relations, learning and development, employee engagement, and other key personnel-related functions. My nephew runs a startup..

He is ready with proof of concept and till now he has not taken any outside money.

There are enough startup India program under various ministries, state govt and even IITs ( they ask for stake) that funding a good startup is not difficult in India… obviously tied up with milestones.

He also employs 3-5 member team( part time) with the funding provided by these programs.

I have been closely working with him for 3 years and can assure you that if you have an idea in India today, funding is not a problem.

I am truly impressed by the programs/ support which govt,IIT”s.. CSR of large corporates have for startup eco system in India.

एनएचपीसी तीस्ता-V पावर स्टेशन (510 मेगावाट), सिक्किम के यूनिट-3 (170 मेगावाट) का वाणिज्यिक संचालन दिनांक 16.07.2026 को सफलतापूर्वक पुनः प्रारम्भ हो गया है। इसके साथ ही तीस्ता-V पावर स्टेशन की सभी तीनों उत्पादन इकाइयों (प्रत्येक 170 मेगावाट) से पुनः वाणिज्यिक विद्युत उत्पादन प्रारम्भ हो चुका है तथा पावर स्टेशन अपनी पूर्ण स्थापित क्षमता 510 मेगावाट पर कार्यरत है। उल्लेखनीय है कि 15.07.2026 को यूनिट-3 का राष्ट्रीय ग्रिड के साथ सफल टेस्ट सिंक्रोनाइजेशन किया गया, जिसके पश्चात दिनांक 16.07.2026 को यूनिट का पूर्ण क्षमता (170 मेगावाट) पर सफल परीक्षण भी सम्पन्न हुआ।
इस अवसर पर अध्यक्ष एवं प्रबंध निदेशक, एनएचपीसी श्री भूपेन्द्र गुप्ता ने कहा, “अक्टूबर 2023 की प्राकृतिक आपदा से गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित तीस्ता-V पावर स्टेशन की सभी उत्पादन इकाइयों का पुनः वाणिज्यिक संचालन एनएचपीसी की तकनीकी दक्षता, टीमवर्क, समर्पण और दृढ़ संकल्प का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। हमारे अभियंताओं एवं कर्मचारियों ने चुनौतीपूर्ण परिस्थितियों में अथक परिश्रम करते हुए परियोजना की पुनर्बहाली का कार्य सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न किया है। यह उपलब्धि न केवल देश की ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को सुदृढ़ करेगी, बल्कि स्वच्छ, हरित एवं विश्वसनीय जलविद्युत उत्पादन के प्रति एनएचपीसी की प्रतिबद्धता को भी और अधिक सशक्त बनाएगी।” #NHPC @MinOfPower @officeofmlk @mlkhattar @PIB_India
