[Shivani Poddar @shivanipod]

I led engineering at Google DeepMind.

Today, I'm proud to introduce Fo to give personal AI something no lab ever has... Humans.

Other personal AI's pretend AI can do everything. Fo employs humans to do tasks that AI cannot.

- 2x better at real-world task completion (beats other agents by 69%)
- 94% trust rate (4x less likely to leak private info vs Muse, Instinct)

@Snowflake I am unable to create a trial account. Can someone from the team help?

- Modify key search algorithm to tolerate inconsistency between search/data layer cause due to asynchronous update.
- Replicate search layer across NUMA nodes to reduce cross NUMA communication.

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

Finally! Paper accepted at VLDB. Key idea:
- Separate an index structure into two layer
- Data layer stores key and value
- Search layer stores partial keys to accelerate key search in data layer
- Update data layer synchronously but update search layer asynchronously

@arnavsharma93 Because it is exciting. #badjoke

[Arnav Sharma @arnavshr]

I didn't know that the db names needed to be unique across all users. Fixed now.

[Arnav Sharma @arnavshr]

I am unable to create a database on Roam. When I try and redirect to the url, it says I don't have the permission. Help pls. Kinda excited to check Roam out.

@vj_chidambaram Reading acknowledgement of potential adviser and students is a great way to know about the group. In general, gratitude directly correlates with happiness. And everyone wants to be at a happy lab. https://t.co/HPR4AKhH5C

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

@bariskasikci @mgallagher_jr Damn. This puts my lightning talk to shame. Is the paper available to read?

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

If authors of accepted papers at OSDI'18 can upload a synced version of their presentation and the audio file to slideplayer or youtube we can have the entire program online in a format useful for consumption. cc: @vj_chidambaram @bariskasikci

@ajit_mathew It's just PowerPoint + @theflaticon + @colourlovers + @WuTangClan. My ex-roommate (@_designatwork) also taught me how to run my design trap back in the day.

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

@andy_pavlo @theflaticon @colourlovers @WuTangClan @_designatwork Thanks! I see the video recording has improved over the years but if you are still looking for something better try @TimVideosUs They are making open source conference recording solutions.

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

@andy_pavlo Thanks for your video lectures on databases. I was wondering what software do you use to make slides and graphics in your slides. Everything from color palette to the graphics are pretty awesome.

[Ajit Mathew @ajit_mathew]

@vj_chidambaram A good start will be UT CS removing TOEFL requirement for students who did master's in US. I need to spend $200 because my scores expired for the test I took two years back.
