At 14, Himanshika Sharma’s world changed when Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis put her in a wheelchair.

But the wheelchair was never going to be the end of her story.

She was just 17 when she dreamed of publishing a book. Her family couldn’t afford it, so her mother sold a gold ring and her father borrowed the rest to make it happen.

The book earned her no royalties. But it introduced her to writers who worked from home, and showed her that she could build a career where her mobility didn’t decide her earning potential.

Small freelance assignments became a career.

Then came a promise to her younger sister, made over a birthday when the family couldn’t afford a cake. Her sister simply cut a samosa in half and called it different.

Himanshika decided she would one day make sure her sister never had to worry about financial insecurity.

Today, she has funded her sister’s university education, helped her father start a restaurant, relocated her family and built a career of her own.

She also bought an SUV in her own name, becoming the first woman in her family to own a car.

For someone who once had to be carried down a staircase by her father, that car meant far more than a milestone.

It meant freedom.
It meant independence.
It meant dignity.

अब सवाल यह है कि क्या हम इसे चुपचाप देखेंगे, या BSNL जैसी सरकारी कंपनी बचाने के लिए आवाज़ उठाएंगे?

For anyone who wonders why it is almost impossible to make a good and truthful Hindi film, what is happening with the Phule film is an excellent example. 

Ananth Mahadevan directed the Hindi biographical film Phule, which focuses on the lives of social reformers Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. 

The film, which stars Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa, is set to be released in April 2025 and will highlight the Phules' fight against caste and gender injustice in nineteenth-century India, as well as their pioneering work in education, such as creating the first school for females in Pune in 1848.

However, as soon as the trailer was out, Brahmin organizations in Maharashtra started raising their voices, claiming that the film defames their community. 

I mean, sincerely, the film is literally about Brahmin atrocities against oppressed castes. 

How they were denied schooling for hundreds of years and persecuted. These are known and accepted facts.  

Specifically, critics contend that the famous scene in which Brahmin children throw garbage at Savitribai Phule is factually false and encourages casteism by portraying Brahmins as uniformly nasty. (And these are all true incidents, accepted by historians).  

To handle the outcry, the filmmakers delayed the release by two weeks from its initial date of April 11, 2025 (Jyotirao Phule's birth anniversary).

To make matters worse, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has again played it's dictatorial role by omitted several portions illustrating caste-based discrimination, which weakens the film's message about the systemic oppression the Phules battled against. How can anyone tell truthful and sincere stories in India? Seriously, how?

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi spoke with Nepali Counsellors Shri Sanjeeb Das Sharma and Navin Raj Adhikari, assuring them that justice will be served in the case of the deceased KIIT student, Prakriti. He also assured that peace and normalcy would be restored on the KIIT campus. The CM urged Nepali students to return to campus and resume their studies.

A discussion was held at the State Guest House with officials from Nepal, attended by Hon’ble Ministers Shri Mukesh Mahaling and Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, along with Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja, to ensure the restoration of normalcy at KIIT. Additionally, the Foreign Minister of Nepal Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba spoke with Shri Suryabanshi Suraj over the phone regarding the matter.
