In Phoenix — our first ride-hail city where we’ve historically driven more miles — Waymo’s impact on road safety is even larger: 13 fewer injuries and 20 fewer police-reported crashes compared to human drivers.

New data provides more evidence for the Waymo Driver’s safety benefits. In San Francisco alone, where we’ve clocked 3.83M rider-only miles, Waymo’s driving resulted in 17 fewer injuries and 12 fewer police-reported crashes.

Comparing AV and human drivers’ crash rates is not a trivial task. Last December, we introduced clear human benchmarks for such analysis and showed that the Waymo Driver significantly outperformed them over the first 7M+ rider-only miles.

New data shows that the Waymo Driver continues to make roads safer. Over 14.8M rider-only miles driven through the end of March, it was up to 3.5x better in avoiding crashes that cause injuries and 2x better in avoiding police-reported crashes than human drivers in SF & Phoenix.

Last summer, Justice Alito's NJ beach house displayed the "Appeal to Heaven" flag, a symbol flag flown by Jan 6 insurrectionists associated with reshaping America into a Christian Nationalist nation.

This flag was spotted amid key Jan. 6 cases before the Supreme Court, raising serious ethical concerns. Neighbors and photos confirm the flag flew from July to September 2023, but Alito has declined to comment.
